Good Afternoon Simmers! After I finally figured out where to put this thread (Thank You HugeLunatic) I wish to introduce the large project I am working on. A brand spankin' new neighborhood for your working class sims to live in!
:new: :new: :new:
Terminal City, a desert valley of industrial brick and concrete for sims who want the very simple, working life. I don't know what it would be perfect for but ok.

Yet I need some feed back, I need some more plans and Ideas for buildings and what kind of community lots should be in the neighborhood. This hood is an industrial brick and concrete town with low class apartments. My Ideas of buildings are mostly tenements and the low class apartments from SC4, and buildings from City 17 in Half Life 2. If anybody could please give me any feed back that would be greatly appreciated. :llama:

Hello there DrFreeman - although I don't have any comments to make on the neighbourhood itself, I noticed that your pictures were quite small; I hope that the following links may help. :)

The second link may not be of too much use, as it seems to be more for creating a 'set' as such.

Is this a 'hood from the game? If it is...
Have you thought about using a custom 'hood layout?
Here's some here at MTS. I think it'd add a great deal of uniqueness to the neighborhood.

Perhaps adding more of your ideas would be better? It is quite empty. But what you could do is put house shells, and let people edit them from there. (House shells meaning just the layout of it. Maybe some basic paint and flooring, but no furniture.) In my perspective, it needs more decoration, or houses.(;

EDIT:
I re-read your post. Sorry about the last part.
If you'd like some tips from myself about layout plans, houses, house design, ect., send me a PM and I'd be glad to help you on that part.(;

Hi, I don't play TS2 anymore but I think the spaces between the roads are way too big. Get a closer road network going because to me the term city means conjested and densly packed, if you want to keep your roads then put something between them so they're not so bare : )
The third option however is to tell me to bog off because you want it that way ; )

This, could be fixed with a custom 'hood.(:

I'll think about using a custom hood. I'm considiring using arcadia. But I think to fix the spaces between to roads I can just add yards/parkinglots to the back on longer lots. I plan to use some dumbbell tenements that I have gotten some floorplans of and I think it could work well.

Industriality <3
Look of post soviet countries would inspire you.
Same looking blocks of flats built before 1990s, closed, ruined factories, big, dirty railway station, landfills, small shops, unsafe (littered, without fences and with broken things) playgrounds, public toilets, pubs etc.

And yes - the low class buildings from Sim City 4 may be good inspiration as well :)

I am working on the dumbbell tenements to be close to the floorplans.
:deal:
I am wondering if I should upload the tenement as my first upload for you guys to have fun with.

I know I haven't updated here for a while and later today I will post pics of my progress so far on these tenements. It's taking quite a while. I'm making a new thread to go along with that project. I'll create the link later. It's 2am and I need rest for work tomorrow.
