View Full Version : Tricking those pirates into marriage

I've been going crazy over the inability to marry those big-eyes pirates with any of my heroes. At fist I assumed it was just because they were 'active' NPCs during the new P&N quest chain, but even after I've made peace and finished the quest line, they refuse to show up when you invite them over.
As far as I've played, you can only invite them over after the whole kingdom ambition is completed and you're in eternal kingdom mode. This doesn't appeal to me since I can't earn any achievement points at that point.
So, does anyone know if there's some mod out there that will allow you to summon or teleport NPCs over? I figure I can get them married with the cheats enabled or make them selectable if nothing else, but they need to be present for it to work.

call them over with the mail box, use shift+right click, and set the relationship to spouse.

They don't come when you invite them over since the game considers them "busy" with the P&N quest chain. That's the problem

There are a few that are available for marriage. Thing is you have to find them through trial and error. I think most 'pirate lackeys', 'mateys', and 'scallywags' are marriage-material. 'Pirates' not so much.

oh, you could replay the particular quest the requires them to be present in the kingdom. That's how I married the Dread Pirate Ravenscar or whoever. sadly, i had to delete that game and I haven't gotten around to marrying another pirate.

Can't even get a little woo-hooing with them... boooo! My bard had a personal quest to boink everyone in the kingdom and those darn pirates ruined it for her!

Haha. I guess we'll just have to hope they address this in a patch. I did manage to woohoo with Korbin Ravenscar but putting a bed in the feast hall. :X You just have to do it while they're present for a quest and plop down a bed wherever they're at.
@DarthKitsune, did you do that in endless kingdom mode? When I've tried marrying them in an active kingdom the option is grayed out. Unfortunately I don't play in completed kingdoms at all since I'm working on the achievements.

yes, yes I did. my eternal kingdoms seem to glitch more then my ambition kingdoms, maybe because I play more. anyway, I'm pretty sure I used the cheat option to get married, the other way takes too long IMO. *Shotgun Wedding*

I have had two pirate types wed to sims in my game, one seadog something who I married to a briefly controlled townie and a pirate lackey who I married to a peteran priest. I did marry them in the regular way with the 'marry here' option. Did this in the quest when I first had interaction with these sims and am pretty sure it was the quest in which they were generated...maybe that makes a difference because I know some quest related sims titles change after a quest and they become NPC townies. Have not noticed if the same thing happens to pirate types yet.
