Some Maxis Lights Not Working Properly (No Diffusion Light) - Problem Solved

I'm having a problem with some Maxis lights not sending out diffusion light. There is direct light hitting surrounding objects, but nothing on the walls/floors.

I've tried everything in the Game Help: Game Problem (http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Game_Problem) section (removing CC, removing user files, etc.), short of an actual reinstall. I have all EPs and reinstalling would take a very long time, so I wanted to ask here and see if there's another solution before I embark on that. (Also, I'd like to keep my ongoing Legacy family if at all possible!)

The lights affected are the following:

Wall:
Blinding Soldier
"Ultra Sporty Boxing Lamp" by Al Ike Spordz
Ceiling:
"Orbs of Contenders" Ceiling Lamp
Light Waves Ceiling Lamp by Fun in the Sun
The Prismo RotoBall by LumiO
Floor:
Circle of Light Friendship Lamp
Shining Knight Standing Lamp
Stinging Jelly Light
Table:
Flickering Mercenary Table Lamp
The Photon-Master 3000, Tabletop Edition
"Founding Fathers" Electric Lamp

I can't remember exactly, but I'm fairly certain those lights come from a variety of EPs. They are definitely all Maxis.

Thanks, leesester - that's solved some of my problems! :D A little bit of fiddling, following Plasticbox's instructions on the downloads page, and I've fixed some more of the lights on my own.

I'm still having a problem with some Teen Style Stuff and University lights, and I can't work out what's wrong with them. Any further advice anyone has would be great!

Problems (eventually) solved as far as I can tell!

After much fiddling around with lighting files I've managed to fix the lights that were broken.. Thanks again leesester for pointing me towards Plasticbox's lighting fixes, and many thanks to Plasticbox for the DIY lighting changes instructions that were in that post! I should also thank Numenor for his Lights and LGHT Files Modding InfoCentre Post (http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=103817), for helping me to figure out what all that text means. (Well, some of it. It's still mostly gibberish to me!)

In case anyone's wondering what the problem was: my Teen Style Stuff lighting.txt file was pointing to the wrong file (SP1Lights.nlo instead of SP6Lights.nlo!) so I changed that. The Uni Lighting.txt file was using the instruction wildInclude "*.nlo" whereas all my other EPs' Lighting.txt files used include "filename", so I thought I'd try changing that - and it worked!

Not bad, for someone who had zero knowledge of altering game files this morning. :/
