Does anybody know of a tutorial on how to convert Sims 2 wall and floor patterns to Sims 3?

Thing is, Sims 2 walls and floors are complete items - a wall in TS2 will be whatever the pattern for the wall is, plus usually baseboards etc... Same with floors - if it's a floor with boards, it's got the wood texture already applied, rather than just being boards and then applying the wood to it separately. You may be able to recreate an all-over pattern as a pattern in TSRW, Delphy's Pattern Packager, or the Create-a-Pattern tool, though, but that's mainly going to be a matter of looking at existing tutorials on making patterns, and then recreating the TS2 pattern for TS3 with the proper colour channels and whatnot.

I just made my own flat wall object that I can put images on that I converted from Sims 2 pngs to Sims 3 .dds. I got tired of the super-flat look it's so hard to avoid using Sims 3 walls and I wanted some with non-repeating patterns like we had in Sims 2 also. Prolly not the solution you're looking for but if you get desperate it works very well...especially if you make it have repeat placement and loads of choices in Buy mode.
