Teleporting sims to community lots

Is there a way to teleport sims to community lots? Especially for events like weddings.

Is there any reason why you can't place a teleporter on a community lot and use it?

Not with EA-made code. However, more than one fan-made summoner exists. I recently downloaded Inge's teleporter cat on the recommendation of many people here, also for a huge wedding on a community lot, and found it worked beautifully.

I made the mistake of putting the cat in a too-confined area - it is now in a more open part of that lot - and of summoning all 31 guests one after another rather than letting the first batch clear the area, so learn from my fail! I have also used it to allow parents to bring their toddlers to visit the neighbor's toddlers. I summon them when wanted, and zap them when it's time to leave. If the parent declares that she and the toddler are leaving because it's past bedtime, the toddler doesn't go away - you have to zap her. This has no deleterious effects on the toddler.

It has other functions, but I haven't used them; other people here have and can tell you about them. And there are other ways to get huge weddings, but this was the one that seemed most straightforward to me.
