:help: So I downloaded the Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2 but it won't install. I get a message saying it's not supported on a 64-bit operating system. Whatever that means. I have no clue. Can I try downloading a newer version of the .NET Framework? Or will I just not be able to use SimPe? If I can't use SimPe, is there another program I can use to recolor?

You probably already have a compatible .NET installed on your system. Try installing and running SimPE. If you have problems, report back here.

I thought of that too. But SimPe won't open and run. I get a message saying it has stopped working every time I try to run it.

Can you give us the exact error message, or attach a screenshot of the error?
Are you using a version which is compatible with Mansion and Garden?
Are you using the install version or a no-install version? If there are multiple files in the zip, have you extracted everything to a folder on your hard drive?

For SimPe: I go to the SimPe site and click on downloads, agree to the disclaimer, scroll down to "Main SimPe Download" and select the top link for the normal installer. Right above that link it gives "Needed Software to run SimPe" I already have Direct X 9c on my computer but not .NET. I click the link and download the installer for .NET but when I try to download I get the error message(screenshot attached). With only SimPe installed using the normal installer, I get the pop-up saying it has stopped working and will close.

Could you please attach the SimPE error screen, not the .NET error screen?
You're downloading SimPE_0_72_01c_Setup.exe. That version isn't compatible with Mansion and Garden.
At the very least, you need to install that version, then install the "Upgrade Patch for Mansion and Garden", located on the first SimPE page (before you choose the Downloads menu item).
Alternatively, you can download and use the "SimPE 0.73.44 QA for everyone", which is what most people are using these days. The link for the QA no-install version is also on the first SimPE page.

I got it to work finally! I've realized that i take simple instructions and turn them into something nearly impossible. I had to download the "SimPe_0_72_01c_.exe" and then the "Upgrade Patch for M&G" and follow the instructions given. I opened SimPe (with fingers crossed :D) and it finally opened and as far as i can tell is going to work. It hasn't crashed or stopped working so far. A very big THANK YOU for all your help. Even though I am a fracking idiot concerning all simple instructions. Hopefully I can figure out recoloring now with the help of some tutorials.
