Ok so basically I've had the sims 2 installed on my computer for a while now and it had been running perfectly but all of a sudden the game just resets itself! All the families I made are gone, the default families in the neigborhood have gone back to how they were at the start of the game and the family bin is empty. Every time I try to enter the game it takes longer to load as if I just installed it.
I didn't download anything dodgy and I am certain that my game was updated with the latest patches for my Free Time expansion pack so I'm not sure what could have caused this issue.
The weird thing is that in the sims 2 folder on my computer everything is the way it was before. All my cc, pictures, videos, characters - everything is fine. I really don't know what's happening but if someone could help me get my game back I would really appreciate it.

Does anyone else use the computer? Could they have accidentally changed the name of the folder in My Documents?
What changed between the time it worked and the time it stopped?

No one except me uses the computer.
And all I did was exit the game normally one night and the next time I entered it everything was reset. I don't know why this is happening :(

Could you post a screenshot of that folder so that we can see its name and location? It sounds like your files are there but not being read by the computer, correct?

Yes that's right. I have attached the screenshot you asked for
Also another strange thing that I have just noticed about my game is that in the vacation neighborhood Takemizu Village all the custom lots that I placed are exactly as they were before. The only thing that seems to have been reset is the base neighborhood itself

Does anyone think that using SimPE could possibly somehow fix this problem?

Until we figure out what the problem is, it's difficult to say what the solution is.
I can't imagine what you'd change using SimPE to fix the problem.

Ok I have some good news and some bad news.
The good news is that my sims are still in the game! I was able to find them using TwoJeffs Sim Blender > Teleport > Summon.
The bad news is that everything about my sims has been deleted. Their relationships, aspirations, memories, personalities, family trees and attractions are all gone.
Does anyone know how I can possibly get them back? Thanks for the help

I don't suppose that you have a recent backup, from before you started to experience problems? If so, I would suggest that you restore from your backup. Your neighborhood seems to be corrupt.

Yes I have a backup of the game but it is from a while ago and so I only want to use it as an absolute last resort. Right now I am asking if there is any way I can find out the problem with my current game and how I can fix it. Is there any sort of neighborhood scan/fixer that I could use?

You can certainly try my HoodChecker, but be sure to make a backup first.
However, if your neighborhood has already been overwritten with the default neighborhood, that won't help you. Similarly, if individual parts of the neighborhood, such as relationships, memories, family ties, etc. have been overwritten, then there's no way to restore them.
You could use SimPE to manually add each thing which is missing, if you can remember what they are.

Thank you for suggesting your HoodChecker scan I have now downloaded it.
If there is nothing else I can do I may just have to use SimPE to re-add memories and relationships etc to my sims.
Do you know any good tutorials I can use as I do not want to damage my game by editing the wrong thing
