View Full Version : Is there any way I can buy a direct-download version of just Nightlife?

Hi, this isn't really a technical question so I figured it would go here, feel free to move it if it doesn't.
My new laptop doesn't have a CD drive, so I installed the Sims 2 on it with an external drive, but my dad borrowed it and I haven't seen it since. Luckily I've been able to buy expansion packs off the Origin store that you can download directly to your hard drive, no CD necessary. The thing is, the Origin store doesn't have Nightlife by itself (just Double Deluxe). Since I already have the base game installed, I don't think I can install that without uninstalling everything else first, which is kind of dumb, along with the fact that I'd essentially be paying for something I already own.

tl;dr is there anywhere I can just buy Nightlife for direct download? Thanks!

That's a shame since NL brought so much to the game. Are you saying you did a manual install with the external drive?

Yep, with the CD.

Yep, with the CD.
Well, that's a bugger. Can't you get it back off him? Or is there some other way you can copy the files off the disk? As I remember it, that's what you need to do for a manual install, yes?

I could try when I go back home for Christmas, or I could see if I could borrow one from someone else... thanks! :)

Go to another computer that HAS CD drive, then make a cd's image (with Daemon Tools or PowerISO), put the file (like *.iso) on your pen drive, then download one of these programs on your laptop, install, make a virtual drive by it and mount cd's image.
