View Full Version : Fencing/Wall around staircase?

So, I'm just about ready to pull every single strand of hair out of my head in frustration! I've been trying for some time to place fencing/walls at the front of the staircase but it just won't go. It keeps saying: 'Can't intersect other objects.' I've tried 'move_objects on' and 'constrainfloorelevation,' I've scoured the interwebz for tips, tutorials, similarly asked questions, but to no avail...

Right where there's that circle, I'd like to put some kind of 'protection' there just for vanity sake. I don't like that bare bones look. In real life, staircases don't look like that. There's usually some kind of barrier to prevent accidents.

Help will be so greatly appreciated. Not only to save my peace of mind, but my poor hair... :help:

I've found that you can place tiles further over stairs than you are allowed to place walls/fences. So you would have to delete those two tiles (or foundation?) hanging over the stairs that you circled and move everything else back (if possible) to do what you're wanting.

Thank you for your suggestion, but I actually found a way around it and I feel so STUPID that I hadn't thought of it before!

With move_objects on, I was able to remove the stairs, place the fencing where I needed it to go then put the stairs back. Ha! Gonna do a test run to see if the stairs will be operable...
