Hi Everyone

This is the first time I have created something for the Sims that I think I would like to share with the MTS community, and I have come here for help and advice. I've read all the announcements, and I sure hope I don't do anything noobish!

This sim is a celebrity sim based on my favorite actor, John Pyper-Ferguson. The announcement says that this forum can also be used as a test run for the upload thread - this is something I'd like to do since this would be my first upload. So, here goes:

~~~~~~~~
John Pyper-Ferguson is a Canadian television and movie actor with a very extensive CV. He has appeared in numerous television shows as a guest star, made appearances in many movies in supporting roles, and has been a regular or recurring character in such television programs as The Adventures of Brisco County Jr and ABC's hit family drama Brothers & Sisters.
Now for my sim:
Here are some pictures of JPF for comparison.
This is a picture of my sim him and the photo I used most to make the sim him.
This picture is from the same appearance and he has a more neutral expression: http://i832.photobucket.com/albums/zz243/angeleyes91011/John%20Pyper%20Ferguson/Found%20on%20the%20internet/Image1.jpg
I know his nose is all wrong, but I don't know exactly how to fix it. Any other suggestions? I've looked at him so much I can't see what needs work anymore! Thank you so much in advance.
I usually not good at stuff like this, but at first glance his eyes seem to big and doe-like on your sim.
Yes, I think you are quite right. His eyes looked smaller in CAS. I will work on them. Thank you very much for your comment!
I think it is a very good first attempt. :up:
My first suggestion is to include a side view of the sim and the actor you are simming. It gives the reader a better comparison.
From what I can see from the pictures you provided, I agree the eye is certainly a bit too large. Smaller and narrower eyes will work better. Also the nose bridge of the sim seems too wide. Perhaps a little more nose mass will fix that.
I am sure others will give you more advise as you progress with your project. Good luck :D
Thank you so much Cloud Walker. :) Thanks so much for commenting and for your suggestions. I tried to make his eyes smaller and narrower as you suggested and I think these look better. I also changed the color, the other ones were too brown. I also worked on his nose but I think it's still not quite right.
That's a good suggestion, especially since JPF has a unique profile due to having an underslung jaw/underbite. I tried to capture that in my sim.
Big improvements! Eyes just a bit smaller in scale. I think you could lift the outer corners of the eyebrows some. Your sim looks sad. Try to make the nose more triangular by narrowing the nasal bridge, shortening the nose, making it a bit narrower at the nostrils and/or decreasing the nose tip mass. Notice that the model's nose is basicaly level across with the nostrils lined up with the septum (flesh in between nostrils). Mouth shape looks pretty good but the mouth needs to be narrower/less wide. Chin could, perhaps, be more square/wider. Good start! I especially like the first hairstyle. It's very similar to the reference picture. Eye color could be a bit lighter, too.
Sorry, I forgot I was signed in to The Merrye Makers! It's SimmyRN.
I agree with SimmyRn too...only a couple of things to add..one to change the contact to one that has a smaller iris and the second is to increase the upper lid so that you can see it. The profile looks really good.
Hi SimmyRN, thank you SO MUCH for your very helpful and constructive feedback! So many things went CLICK when I read what you suggested, and I think that my newest version is much improved..
I did as you suggested and made his eyes a bit smaller and then moved them just a tad closer together as when I made them smaller they looked too wide-set. I did lift the corners of the eyebrows, and I think it made a big difference. You feedback regarding his nose is what gave me my real A-HA! moment. I did everything you suggested and I also turned the nose itself up and then turned the nose tip down, which I think makes his nostrils look more like the real him. Thank you, thank you! Finally his nose looks so much closer to "right"! I did make his mouth narrower, and I also made his bottom lip a tiny bit thinner. I'm not sure his jaw is quite right yet. I used some different contacts and made his eyes lighter. I love the contacts I used this time, finally his eyes are the correct hazel/green/brown hybrid of the real person. I also made his hair darker which I think looks a lot richer and more natural as well as more accurate.
So here are the new pictures, and two more pictures of the real him for comparison:
Hi Rennara, I think you are absolute correct and I looked for different contacts thanks to your suggestion. I like these much, much better. Thanks for your comment, it really helped a lot!
Just a couple of little changes this time. I worked on making his chin a bit narrower and his jaw a little more square. I also added a lower lashes makeup. Here's the latest version.http://i832.photobucket.com/albums/zz243/angeleyes91011/newest3.jpg
Getting better! The eyes are a bit too wide open giving him a "startled" look. Try maker the nose just a bit wider at the nasal bridge and above the nostrils. Nostril width looks pretty close, maybe just a little narrower. The nose might be a little long, still. The upper lip looks spot on except, maybe, a tiny bit wide. Make the bottom lip a bit thicker up and down and a little more rounded - U shaped. Face shape looks close except the chin needs to be more square. From the side I'd say the nose tip needs to come out more - be longer. As far as the "underbite", I believe it is more the way the model is holding his jaw in the reference picture. The upper lip needs to move forward a bit. Actually, I think the whole profile, including the eyes, might need to be pulled out a little.
Thank you SimmyRN, I'm going to work on him this week with your recommendations and upload a hopefully improved version!
