View Full Version : Objects Upload Post

I suggest that you make the post split as follows:

Hekate Medieval Misc Objects & Hekate Medieval Cashboxes & Daluved's Jug = 1 upload post Buy Mode -> By Function -> Miscellaneous
Hekate Medieval Blacksmith = 1 upload post Buy Mode -> By Function -> Miscellaneous
Hekate Medieval Armoury I + Hekate Medieval Armoury II = 1 upload post Buy Mode -> By Function -> Miscellaneous
Hekate Medieval Kitchen = 1 upload post in Buy Mode -> By Room -> Kitchen
Hekate Medieval Lanterns = 1 upload post in Buy Mode -> By Function -> Lighting
Hekate Medieval Shower + Bathtub & Dal_Toilets 1 upload post in Buy Mode -> By Function -> Plumbing
Hekate Medieval Kids Furniture 1 upload post In Buy Mode -> By Room -> Nursery

Need more work:

Robodl95_TV Painting
Reason: It is not acceptable to get a painting from google or wherever and turn it into a TV. You need to take some pictures of your own at the very least.
---------
Three Medieval Crosses by NikkiCornelisse
Reason: These actually need a remap - look at the wood grain on the cross. The grain on the horizontal pieces needs to be horizontal. There needs to be some shading and highlights as well. When you take the picture with the wood grain choose a wood that is in scale to the cross.

OBJECT GUIDELINES: >> http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=MTS2:Creator_Guidelines/Sims_3_Objects

All objects should be recolourable. No exceptions.
You must mention how many channels a object has.
You must have a GOOD SIZED picture of the UV mapping on the object (like on Dals potty)
You must state the price and catalog location.

PICTURES: Most of the REQUIRED pictures need to be redone - even the ones from Hekate and Dal. They are too small and would be sent back for changes. Do not collage pictures - minimum pic size is 800 by 600. The pictures by Dal are showing sims in modern clothes - use pictures showing the Sims in the medieval clothes the team has made. Do not edit and resize the pictures from this thread as they will blur and will not make it through moderation.

FOR CLARITY: A upload post is a post that you make via the Upload Wizard. At this moment the only multipart upload I expect to see is the lots. Those can be done via Creator Issues. I will move ALL the non-lot multipart threads from the upload queue to Creator Issues. You can get the files and text and so on from the multipart post. Then I will expect to see each upload go into the queue via the normal upload process.

IMPORTANT
BEFORE you send it to the queue I wish to see the pictures and the text of the post as you intend to present it. You can do that by replying here.

Okay, if I'm understanding correctly, Leesester, you want the objects split up as above each in a separate reply in this thread so that they can be worked on and/or reviewed by you. Then, when approved, each reply will be uploaded separately using the upload wizard. Is that right? Do you want me to make a reply for each object/group -- according to your list -- here? I and the object creators will have to sign in under The Merrye Makers to be able to edit their object posts. Is this all right with you Robodl95? I'm certainly not trying to take over. I just want to help so we can see this project finished.

The multipart Residential and Community lot uploads are just about ready, I believe. I'm having difficulty getting Photobucket to cooperate for the inline "intro" picture for the Community Lots. In the Community Lots, one of Nikki's lots uses Hekate's water wheel and Nikki's cross. How do we handle the links for that? Once these two issues are taken care of, I hope they're okay for uploading. I can post a reply here or whereever you think best, Leesester.

Since I do have a pretty good graphics card, I can try downloading all the clothes, terrains, etc., and staging some "scenes" for photographs. Hopefully, VampireSim can help some as she has background in this type of work, it sounds like. Others? I really do appreciate everyone hanging in here and thank you so much, leesester, for moving this forward.

A very good idea, SimmyRN, to post this threads as The Merrye Makers so that everybody can make changes. :)
I want to create a small medieval world for presenting all the Lots and my terrain paints. A kind of stage scenery. I think, I will finish this evening.
Maybe we can split making screenshots?

Hi simmyRN, I have seen the work you have been doing on getting the lots ready for upload - thank you :) I think they are looking good.

I think it is best to give each upload post a separate thread in this forum. Then I will look it over (edit as required) and then we can upload via the upload wizard.

I'm having difficulty getting Photobucket to cooperate for the inline "intro" picture for the Community Lots. In the Residental lots, one of Nikki's lots uses Hekate's water wheel and Nikki's cross.

I would use www.modyourpanties.com for the Intro picture. That is an MTS hosted images site and will not have the risk of a bandwidth exceeded image showing up. On the links, I suggest that we add those once the relevant objects post is done.

I realise that the waterwheel is a big chunk of that upload so we may need to get that done first out of the objects. I think that it is easier to upload that wheel alone

Waterwheel = 1 upload post Build Mode -> Miscellaneous -> Other

What we need to do is focus on the four things we will upload first - finish those. Current in progress uploads are the lots, the patterns, the terrain paints and the clothes. The waterwheel will be in a separate post - see above. Ideally we do need Nikki to remap that cross - it should not be a lot of work and I will help on the that if needed.

Here's a medieval world (http://www.mediafire.com/file/tgng4kwpca0bxrj/Medieval%20town.zip) with all lots. (Large map)
It's just a scenery. Not really playable. But I think, it's nice as a background.
The blank world and a savegame with all lots.

Stage scenery is exactly it VampireSim. I do it all the time - I make room sets or building shells to "show off" my uploads - it is a very easy and quick way to get good shots IMO.

Simmy: No, go ahead! I appreciate all your help so much!

I'm pulling the TV out so don't upload it please, I have no idea how I could do my own art. I took all my pictures in this medieval hood http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=388985&goto=newpost I asked him and he said it was okay, it's not finished but there are several test rars in the upload to download.

@Robodl95

If you are searching for medieval paintings, try the Wiki Commons (http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Art_by_century) site. There are different licenses. I think that share alike licences with credit to the author will fit to the upload guidelines?

My next steps:
Make screenshots (as a representation for all uploads in the thread) for the following threads:
- terrain paints
- patterns
- clothing 1 +2
- maybe hekates blacksmith objects

leesester

VampireSim - can you prioritise the water wheel over the blacksmith objects? We need that for the lots uploads. But can you also upload one post as soon as it is ready (terrain paint I think) then we can see how it is all looking.

Robodl95 - Could you use landscape pictures from the world or even the lots from screenshots for your TV "pictures"? Or, if you have a good photographer sim, maybe the sim could take pictures that could be used? Don't those go into the screenshots, too? (You can tell I haven't worked much with the photography skill yet.) I'd hate to see you give up on the TVs.

VampireSim - I'll do a scene with Hekate's deco campfire cooking, campfire, market stalls, and floor lantern. I've got a house that actually started out as a medieval house I can use, or throw a house shell together quickly. I'll use some of your terrain paints and some of the clothing in the scene. The next scene I'll work on is something using the chamber pots / toilet and potty chair with a medieval setting and sims in medieval clothing. How does that sound? I think we've got usable pictures for the blacksmith shop -- unless you want to do one with the fire going to replace the sim in modern clothing. We have good armoury pictures, I think. Hekate's lights/lanterns, kitchen, and kids' furniture need "scenes". Or, daluved1's infant blanket recolors with sims in medieval clothing -- maybe with the children's furniture. Just pick what you want to work on and I'll take some of the others. Thanks!

You should turn off the mood bubbles - use the cheat hideHeadlineEffects off. You might also want to change the walls, there were no tigers in medieval europe. You should also focus more on what you're photographing, we want to use stuff throughout the pictures (ie sims in our medieval clothes using our furniture or our lots) but the creation should always be the focal point. The blanket picture is too zoomed out. You should use some of our lots in the pictures.

- So sorry if that came off as mean, I'm just making some suggestions -

No, we don't have any tables/chairs/doors/or windows that I'm aware of. However, in working with the scene shots for Hekate's floor torch (which is a fireplace), I noticed that, even though the sims lit it at fire pit level, the fire is burning at the ground. (Picture attached.) Do you think this is something else Pets "borked"?

Edit: It definitely is. I've attached the mapping picture. I sent HeKate a message to disregard my confusion about the floor lantern/torch and asked her to look at the torch/fireplace fire placement.

The first upload post (the deco) is on its way to moderation and will hopefully be approved. Its a really well laid out post and shows the objects to their best advantage. Well done. Now for the rest - I will review the patterns post and see what we can do with that.

leesester

On the "broken objects" - its a rig issue first seen with the pets patch, we need to replace the rigs. What I would like, if the original creators do not respond, is a RAR FILE with all the broken objects in. Then I will fix them.

On the baby blanket we need to see the UV mapping. You need to get a closeup picture of the sim with baby in blanket and CAST the blanket to a new colour - does it cast?

Go to cast and change the channels to a blue and white checkered pattern, red and white checkered pattern, green and white checkered pattern and yellow and white checkered pattern - depending on how many channels there are.

Go to live mode and PAUSE the game. Press tab on your keyboard and you are in cameraman mode. Line up the shot and take the screenshot, bearing in mind that minimum size is 800 by 600 so do not be too zoomed out, but allow a little white space around the object.

Its the same on the 6 pictures of the sims in close up (which I like very much as the presentation shot). I am not quite sure what it is though - are they hair? Or hats ? Or beards?

Excellent idea - Again, look at splitting the upload so it makes sense in the downloads system.

What clothes do we have, for what ages and genders? Same for the scars and the beards and the crowns. As we are uploading multiple separate uploads you can split them into manageable "chunks" now. Of course, a quick glance at my profile will tell you that clothing is NOT my strong point so I am also a bit lost.

It might be a good idea for us all to reread the Creator Guidelines for uploads in this area
