First of all, I run on Windows 7. I download a LOT of custom content for Sims 2, and a lot of things off the internet for my personal use. However, my laptop is starting to recognize the Sims 2 Downloads folder as my regular downloads folder, and it's not letting me fix it.

Example: I went to my start menu to find a background I downloaded, clicked "Downloads" and it brought me to my Sims folder.

How do I tell my computer that it's wrong?

Try this: Click Start. On the pop up menu that appears, there should be "Downloads" on the right hand side. Right-click it and select "Properties". A window will appear with six tabs at the top. Click the "Location" tab and you should see an entry field. Change that to the location where you want your regular downloads to go.

Don't forget that that will only change the location in the start menu. If your web browser is automatically sending downloads to a location that you wish to change, you have to do that in the web browser as well.
