So after installing patch 1.29 not only is my game not working but also CAW. I have already re-installed CAW like most of the time after installing a patch and CAW actually opens and all... But the problem is that nothing seems to work. All my world files are unable to load and even the heightmaps don't work, it just says that the heightmap PNG's are not PNG format when they obviously are. Does anyone know what could be causing this? It seems I lost all the work I've done but I dediced to let it be and start anew but now I can't even do that because of the heightmap issue. Please someone help!

Hi there.

First, few hours is not enough to shout "doesn't anyone know what could help?" ;) People have different schedules, and patience is really your friend.

Second, you say your game isn't working either? That can easily cause caw not to work, but the game it self not working is not a caw issue, and you should post about that in ts3 help.

Thirdly, you didn't specify if it's the premade heightmaps too that don't work, but if you are making your own, here is a post that can help making correct png format. http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Tutorials:Creating_Sims_3_Worlds#Custom_Height_Maps_.28Optional.29

Hi. I'm sorry. Yes, my game is not working either. Right now I'm just going to let it be though because I don't have what it takes to try to solve it.

It's the premade heightmaps because I don't have my own and or any downloaded.

Hey jessical, the thread that BloomsBase helpfully linked to has more solutions than just deleting the caches. The most likely cause of this problem is that your gameversions don't match- this could cause problems with your game, too.

I suggest that you first get your game working by following the Game Help:Sims 3 Game Problem guide- if you have trouble with that, please post in the Game Help forum.

Once you have your game working, uninstall CAW, download the correct CAW version for your game and install that. Test without CC (game or CAW). Details of all that are in the previously linked thread:

If you have further problems, please post in that thread also.
