Modular stairs will no longer place after installing the last two ep's

I had this problem before but fiqured it was from a cc conflict & never got around to addressing it. But when I installed all the ep's to a new computer I started the game & ran it clean to see if the modular stairs would work & they still wouldn't place. I also can't get one of the foundations to place at all either (the one that doesn't make the sim register as being on another floor level).

is this a common problem for others? I've seen lots thta haved modular stairs, so I'm stumped on what it coudl be. I patched each ep as I installed it also.

Problems placing the stairs is a "feature" of Mansion & Garden. Try removing walls near the stairs and see whether they'll place. Once they've placed correctly, you can add the roads back again.

Don't know what to suggest about the foundation.

You can place the stairs without removing walls with moveobjects on.

ETA:
When you try to place the inner foundation, are there windows at the walls? You have to place the foundation first, then the windows, it doesn't work the other way round.
