Problem with Sim-Written Novels?

Has anyone else encountered a problem with the game freezing when clicking on Sim-written novels?

Scenario
Say your Sim writes a novel on the computer and eventually finishes it. They usually get a call on the phone informing the Sim that he/she made $xxxx from the proceeds of the book's publishing. Then a minute later, a delivery truck comes by to drop off the novel. The novel appears on the ground, and the delivery man leaves.

Situation
I point the arrow to the Sim-written novel, and left-click it, because I figure I can put it away like any other book lying around the house. Instead, I left-click it, and the game freezes. No "application has terminated" message, no other abnormalities that occured prior to that event, everything ran smoothly, and then all of a sudden, just from clicking the novel, the game freezes. Does anyone else have the same issue? Or maybe it's just me?

Are there any EAxis bookcases or custom ones that are updated for FT in the house?. I had such a problem once when the only bookcase was a pre-FT custom one without the options to read sim-written novels.

I'm using the following bookcases in the home:

The "EDUKATE Shelf by Fun in the Sun" (an IKEA looking bookcase with top curved beige back)
The "Books First for Learning: A Bookshelf for Education" (the career rewards bookcase)
The "Double-Helix Designer Bookcase: (the glass shelved one, with two wood backs behind it)
And the "Renaissance Bookcase by Literary Designs" (one of the base game's expensive bookcases)

A new strange think occured, and more background info:

The book in question, when clicked on and freezes the game, is situated outside on the front lawn. My two robots were clipping the hedges and pulling the grass weeds, and one of them picked up the book to put away without being commanded to. Great, I thought. Still can't click it myself, but at least it's placed in the bookcase.

But now another thing I noticed for quite some time and never asked about. After the Sim finishes writting the novel, a window dialogue asks for the book's title. So I write the title, the book is delivered afterwards. Well, the titles are not being written. For example, that book that was put away by the robot? The title from the "Read Novel..." social interaction I get from that book was "Book TitleMailbox has gained a point of Body skill from the $NameLocal:1."
