If you use the Twallan's mod to make both your sim and your partner fat will the obesity "gene" be passed on? I'm going to try and do that!
Does anyone know if it exists otherwise in the game?
(is totally serious!)

Dude I totally dont think there is a obesity gene in the sims. I mean doesnt your sim baby just start life middle of the road? Dude facials get passed on but shit like muscles, boob size, and the fat/skinny thing dont get passed on I mean how messed up would it be if like Arnold Swartzennager and Sylvester Calzone had a real life baby and she was like 20lbs of muscle? No wait man that would be sweet nevermind but there not passed on in sims.
Sorry to rain on your float man but enjoy your test dude!

I think, from my own experiences, there an obesity gene, as well as a boob gene. I had one plump sim get together with an average sim and they had slightly chubby kids. When the plump sim had an affair with a really skinny sim from the neighborhood, the child from the affair was very thin.

Yes, the default "Fit", and "Fat/Thin" body slider settings for your sim are inherited from their parents.
The default slider setting is the one which the sim naturally reverts back to over time, if you do not force them to work-out.

I had an obese sim (slider all the way to the right) marry a skinny-ish sim (she was a townie, so I'm not sure where her slider was- though I guess mostly to the left) All the kids were very fat.

Mhm, welll in real life there is an obese gene and we're not talking about muscles but that would be a good test too..

all of the original townies in the sims 3 are already obese.
