"Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000000 at address 0x00d19035. Do you wish to debug it ?"

This is what I get when I try to load Create a Household in the town of Jericho. I'm not sure if it's doing this in other towns or at different times of me doing things, but so far this has happened 3 times. The first time I forget what I was doing, and the last two were from trying to load CAH.

I'll click either no or yes, and the game crashes.

I do have CC installed, such as clothing and objects from MTS and TSR, and ONE game mod, which is Awesomemod. I'll remove that real quick and load the game to see if I have any issues. I know my other CC isn't causing the issue because I played for a few minutes just to test it and had no problems.

Also, my game's up to date but apparently there is a new patch out? Is it okay to install it, or will it force me to take out my CC?

Welp, this is an Awesomemod issue. Most likely. I will direct this problem to their forums.

Apparently this is not caused by Awesomemod, so I still need help. :(

A lot of Mac users have had this problem for a really long time. I'm not an expert on computer stuff, but I've had this problem and there are a few solutions.
One that I just did (literally 2 minutes ago) was go into my installed content section in the launcher and uninstall any CC that had "unknown" listed as a type. I can't speak to whether or not this is a temporary or permanent fix yet.

There may be some things you can try in this thread:

Well, running a fresh game without any CC is just fine. Actually, running it with CC is fine as long as I don't have AM or a Master Controller installed. (I never had them installed at the same time). I looked through that thread previously, but none of that seems to help me. I've even contacted EA and they can't help me. They told me to reinstall my OS and/or buy a new Mac. Who can afford to just run out and buy another Mac just because a game won't work?

I really only want this to work with AM installed. But AM or Master Controller gives me that exception raised error. Master Controller during the loading screen (before I choose world to play), and AM while I'm in CAS. All I reeeeaaaally want is to have my extra sliders. :( So there IS a fix for me, which is to run the game without either of those mods, but, I just don't want to. :( Buuut, it looks like I'm stuck. I could try to install all the games all over again, but that definitely won't be today. I have midterms to study for.

Thanks for that titbit, Kayleena!

:gjob: on isolating and identifying them. No one has ever come up with a halfway reasonable cause before. Have you informed the respective developers of your findings? But as they each don't have a Mac to develop on, I don't know how much good this is at the moment...Looks like the Mac OS treat whatever is in these mods as an illegal operation of some kind, but why only recently? I mean not since these mods were first introduced. So, if anyone can further dig down and confirm on which OSX version and which Sims 3 patch this occurs? Is it only for Lion beginning from Lion 10.7.0 and the patch that came with Pets release - 1.27?

[eta]
Thought I'd better add and ask for confirmation on this? Those that play with AM and/or MC, to remove and see if the error stops coming back?

I got the EXCEPTION RAISED error too many times so I deleted my save games and uninstalled expansion packs and reinstalled the base game.

To my surprise (and accident) I reinstalled the base game (AND the current patches.) I believe it's a patch issue not an awesome mod issue itsself. Keep in mnd there were no mods installed at all when the error happened. x.x

Yeah, it occurred for some who's already mod-free and on new games (I reread all I could search on this to see if I can confirm, still haven't finish reading the search results so guess I'll stop now). So back to the drawing board.
I also think those mods might just be flagging a potential issue in the making, that the game ignores (thus no Exception error pop-up) and would blow up later if left untreated (ie with no mods).

Sorry, @Kayleena. Solution is not universal, still. But thanks for sharing!

ellacharm3d ; Yea, so many people have a different reason on why they get the error. I'm on the newest OS system for Mac. My computer's only a month old now. I installed the newest Stuff Pack in hopes that that would fix my issue, but no luck. And I just updated to the newest version, and that didn't help at all. So I guess I'll just have to go without a mod that messes with CAS for now. I'm not sure if other parts of Master Controller is causing this issue for me as I had only installed just what I needed in order to have more sliders.

I'll be installing Showtime when I find it in my mail box (preordered at last minute yesterday), so hopefully it'll be here soon. I'm assuming that it won't fix my issues, but miracles happen! Still not getting my hopes up though. Awesomemod will probably have to update after the expansion as well. So just maybe there might be a change that somehow fixes the error unknowingly.

Also, when I had narrowed the issue down to AM, I did go to their forums and ask for help. Here's the thread: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,21226.0.html
And if I'm not allowed to share the link, then just find the AwesomeMod site, click on the Awesomemod! thread and my post is titled "Weird error after installing AM." I accidentally spammed my thread with posting updates one right after the other instead of editing my post. I don't know why I thought I couldn't edit my post? But yea, I didn't really get much help there. I was told this was a common Mac error. Which, of course it is, but I was able to pin MY error to mods that mess with CAS.

Funny thing is, I have a Macbook that's just two months older than my iMac, with the same amount of CC and mods installed, and I don't get the error. It plays just fine.

Hi everyone!

I have been getting this error since Generations and the patch that came along with it. I DO NOT play with MODS of any kind, so clearly that is not the only cause of this error. It varies on when it happens, such as sometimes in build mode, buy mode, or in live mode. It doesn't seem to have a preference.
I constantly delete my cache files, I have removed problem/sketchy CC, and I play with a cooling pad under my macbook. Nothing. Is. Working.

I hope someone finds a solution.

PS. I find turning Airport off usually helps, and restarting my computer before I play so that no programs are processing,

This could possibly be a stupid question, but as a new Mac user, I need to ask where Airport is located on my Mac. I've got the newest OS.

You can disable airport from the Airport menu bar or from the Network Preferences.

I'm sorry... I'm still confused. I don't see an option to turn Airport off, or anything Airport related. :( I don't mean to be a hassle, really. I completely uninstalled my game, reinstalled today, and I still get the Exception Raised error in CAS. I have not a single mod that's messing with that part of the game, so I have no idea what's going on. Maybe I just won't be able to play the game on my iMac at all. Which is real saddening.

I'm just so frustrated that I could throw all my games in the trash. They're nearly useless now. Is there a chance at all that any CC (clothing/CAS items) could cause this error? This error is beyond my skill level to fix (especially since I'm out of my element on this computer) so I'm really looking for all the help I can get. These games are expensive and I don't want them and the money spent to be wasted.

This Airport thing is really throwing me off. 0.o

Airport is just the name of the wireless connectivity Apple terms their adapter and/or router/modem. http://www.apple.com/support/airport/
It just means to turn your WiFi off and then on again or just leave it off when playing Sims. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4628?viewlocale=en_US & http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1145

Did you do the steps to clean things up before the next reinstall? Else the uninstall is moot. Not all the files and folders would be there if the game has not runs its course without crashings; so if some caches are missing, that is fine.
delete preferences
/Users/<Username>/Library/Preferences/The Sims 3 Preferences folder
delete caches:
<diskname>/Library/Caches/<anything with Sims 3 in it>
/Users/<Username>/Library/Caches/<anything with Sims 3 in it>
repair permissions
/Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility, "Repair Permissions"

To open network preferences: Apple in the top left > System Preferences > Network.

You should see a list of a few things on the left (like in the image on the page linked by simsample). Click on Airport or Wi-Fi (which one you'll see depends on if you have snow leopard or lion).

Near the top on the right, you should see a button that says "Turn Airport/Wi-Fi Off". Click on that, and it'll be turned off.

ellacharm3d ; Actually, I didn't do that. BUT, I found out that I forgot to take my Sliders folder out of my Mods. It's got sliders from I think 6 different people in it. So taking that out got rid of the error in CAS. So now I'm wondering if it wasn't AM that was causing the error. I'll be running a test today with the latest AM beta to see if I get the error in CAS, and if not, then I'll siphon through the sliders and see if I can pinpoint it to a certain one. But with all my other mods (like Book of Talent, Magical Garden Gnome, etc) the game was just fine. I'll be seeing if all of them have updates though, just to be safe. If I get the error after installing AM, then I will do the uninstall steps you listed. Probably not for a while though. It takes so long when you have every EP and SP.
Question though, if I have to uninstall again, when I'm ready to reinstall, should I update each EP and SP before I install the next? I did that with this install and ugh, that was awful. If I can get away with updating/patching after installing the last game, will I be okay?

Mordant17 ; Thank you. See, I have the Airport Utility in my... Utilities folder, but it never. loads. It tells me nothing's been configured with it and it just keeps looking for... something. I don't know what. Now, can I ask another question? Just so my mind is flooded with more information and I understand better, what causes the game (for some people) to not get the error while Wi-Fi is off? I'm always doing more than one thing when I'm on the computer. Always. So when I'm playing my game, I'm usually browsing sites while it's saving/loading, and talking in IMs. It would be hard for me to play with Wi-Fi off, even if it gets rid of the error.

EDIT
Okay, so, I tried playing my game with WiFi off, but that seemed to make me get the Exception Raised error a lot faster. Within minutes of playing. I really am so frustrated. I feel as though I have a pile of wasted money. I'm about to give up. If ellacharm3d's steps don't work, then I just don't know what to do anymore. It seems like something EA's brushing off their shoulder. I honestly don't think it's something they will fix soon if they decide to even fix it at all. Each error has a set of different numbers. I may start to screenshot every one of them. I'd rather deal with faulty CC than this. :(

I have been playing the Sims 3 on 3 different mac computers since it launched. I have played in ALL patches and there has been problems with these errors and mac users from the start. My feeling on it is it is luck of the draw. Some patches caused me to error very frequently (remember the first ambitions patch?) and others not at all (late night). Sometimes new patches even fix the problem. What I suggest is that while we are in this patch, make backups of what you are working on and keep saving. When the new patch comes out, it may smooth things out. I only get those errors now when I'm playing for extended ( 7 hours +) times. And I am 100% modded up (every mod you can think of). The only mod that gives me some trouble now is traveller, but that's because I try some crazy story lines that cause many things happening in different worlds.

I had the same problem! My game kept shutting down. The reason why your game is functioning like that is due Custom Content not created properly. Once you re-open the Sims 3 launch screen check your downloads and uninstall the items with the yield" symbol.

Recently I found this thread (http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/548379.page) at the official forum, which I found interesting. Some users ran their crash logs through the Crash Log Analyzer and it said that the crashes were caused by DEP. Now this is something I am totally unfamiliar with on Macs and maybe something that was only introduced in later OSs (?). I played Sims on Mac up until patch 1.19 and Generations under 10.5.8 and only rarely crashed. But I think that Leopard was much less restrictive when it came to tolerating processes that are violating MacOs' security system.
