lot placement in edit town

Okay, so maybe this isn't the place to post this...but i'm at a loss. I have looked...

I'm playing in Barnacle Bay and I've bulldozed the grocery store and the bistro that is in front of the big beach. The theater lot that is in the same row as these two lots is 40 x 40, so you would think that a 40 x 32 would fit in the space that I freed up... :blink: no, it doesn't...the box showing the lot is not green, it is red.

How can I place this lot?

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried saving, exiting to main menu and then reloading the save?

Did you remember to bulldoze twice - the first time to delete everything on the lot, the second time to delete the lot itself?

Make sure both lots are set to the same zone type, e.g. they're both Residential or both Community. You can't place a Residential lot on a Community zone and vice versa.

Save the lot you want to place to your library. If they are both community lots/land and building type then go into the lot to build, click on community lots in build mode, place the lot you saved to community buildings. If it is a residential it's not so easy to do as entering a community lot it won't show you vacant residentials lots you have saved when you are in build mode on a residential.
Move Objects on will sometimes let you place buildings/lots/houses/ community lots when all else fails and from the Edit Town view.
