View Full Version : Sims won't leave lot in new world

I created a very simple world because even the base worlds run slowly on my pc. I put in all the major rabbit holes, etc, and made plenty of residential lots. I made a family of eight adults and built a new house for them. When their career wishes popped up, I told each one to go to the corresponding location for the career and get a job. None of them would leave the house. Wherever they are, the little cloud with footprints showed up, they waved their arms around, and went back to doing whatever they were doing. I made them get jobs via the computer. Next morning when the car came to bring them to work, they wouldn't leave the house again. I was able to get one Sim to go to the school and take a painting class, but I had to tell him to walk to the sidewalk, then walk in the street. Once he was in the street, I told him to attend the painting class and the taxi showed up.

I am running all expansions and stuff packs through Master Suite Stuff (I think everything available!) on a Windows 7 PC.

Any thoughts/suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Sounds like you have a routing problem, that makes your sims stuck on their home lot. Check the tutorials and posts about routing here. Do post a pic of the lot with surroundings, so people can give suggestions.

I agree; it sounds like you didn't build the routing data at all. Therefore the only routes that exist are the roads.

I will check out the routing - I thought I had accomplished that by building the roads, ensuring lots are on the roads, crosswalks, etc. Guess I was wrong. In the meanwhile, here are my screen captures. Thank you!

You actually have to click 'Rebuild routing data' in the 'view' menu.
