For some reason, my game does not like skintones, and every once in a while it does something funny with them. I guess it's that time again :rolleyes:
About 3 days ago, I'm playing my game as usual (3rd attempt at the Test of Time challenge, almost ready to move into the Roman era :beer:). When I entered the lot of a couple with Skin 2 and 3, I noticed Skin 3 Man was appearing with what looked like Skin 2. I figured the game was being glitchy, so I exited and restarted.
I then went into the lot of a Skin 3 and Skin 4 couple. They both appeared the same colour, which is lighter than Skin 2 but not Skin 1. I removed any newly installed custom content (which was just some clothing), and for good measure, removed all other custom skins, which left me with my 4 default replacements which had been working just fine up until that point. Still no luck.
I then removed the replacements, scanned my folders with Clean Installer and Delphy's Download Organiser (just to be reeeeeeeeally sure I didn't miss any skins), restarted my laptop and the game. Yeah the problem is still there.
I don't know what to do now, I had a really good rhythm going with the challenge, and now this is just messing it up because now I can't take proper screenshots for my family tree if they are not showing the correct colour skin :(
PC SPECS:
Compaq Presario CQ60
Intel Dual Core T3200 @ 2.0 GHz
1GB Ram
Windows 7 32 bit
The pictures are in order from left to right (skin 1, 2, 3, 4). Skin 1 and 2 are showing correctly, but skin 3 (boy) and skin 4 (girl) clearly aren't. I can change the skin using Christianlov's mirror, then it does show the correct colour, but obviously that resets once I exit. And that's also dependent on whether I knew what skin colour they were before... and my 3 & 4 couple just had extremely pale twins, even though their parents are the founders who are 3 & 4 only.
**edit** It seems like it's only affecting certain sims, as in BodyShop and CAS the skins are correct, some of the Skin 3 sims are showing correctly. I don't know what's going on :cry:
**edit** Skin 3 Male and Skin 4 Female just had twins that are Skin 2 :faceslap: and the Skin 3 couple also had a Skin 2 baby, though neither couple has Skin 2 in their bloodline, and I've been playing without the default replacements now. So to recap: Skin 1 and Skin 2 people are fine, Skin 3 and 4 people are showing as some colour that is neither Skin 1 or 2 and their babies are coming out as Skin 2 :!:
**solution** something borked my skins I don't know what. Had to change the affected sims' skintones in Simpe (guess how long it took me to do 40 sims on my ancient laptop? :Pint: but at least everyone is the colour now, and to be on the safe side I'm just not going to install any other custom skins.
