Right, not to start off on the bad side of anyone, but can someone give me a proper step by step on how the hell modding the sims 3 works?

Like i keep reading things that are so confusing like "You do not need helper monkey anymore" For someone who has just rejoined thats confusing, on a second note, the Wiki thing (Even the one which is step by step) is just as confusing as the first one, to many links to other pages and such, Please help. I think i'm going insane...... :help:

EDIT: Sorry for posting in the wrong section, Even the way the forums on this site work are terrible >.>

My guessing is to go to Create -> Sims 3 -> tutorials or whatever category you're interested in.
It's a drop down list on top of this page, left.
It's good to know exactly what you're looking for in order to find it. :)

This is anyway the wrong section for your question It should be somewhere over there http://www.modthesims.info/forumdisplay.php?f=593
And most probably the answers of your question are already there..

I thought the navbar is straightforward, how much simpler is it to go to Help menu if you need help with the games (Comp Tech for general computer issues); Create menu if you want to create for the games (there's subsections for any particular interest), Downloads if you wanna download something; Community if you want to be social and so on...

What you want is under Help --> Sims 3 --> CC Basics if you're asking about how to install Mods (aka Custom Content) into the game.
If you're asking about how to create Mods, then Pixelhate's post has the proper location.

So, what is it that you want to do, exactly? Install mods or Create mods? I will move the thread as appropriate.

ps: there's also a Site Map under the Site menu, if you prefer to learn navigating the site from that page.

Don't try the Sims 2 method in Sims 3. They're totally different games, it won't work.

Under Help -> Sims 3 -> CC Basics, there are instructions on installing TS3 CC. Read them carefully, follow them as best you can, step by step - and if you get stuck, feel free to post here, explaining what specifically you don't understand/isn't working so far, and what you've tried to make it work; and we'll be happy to explain things. :)

OK, I hate to be an enabler of bad habits, and in fairness to the others that I locked today, this is getting locked as well...

Please post in Sims 3 Help with all the information requested (the pictures and version#) if you still need help after following the FAQs as directed.
