Question about downloading a house with an sp I don't have

I always find really nice houses with things that came with an SP I don't have yet, and it's usually just a couch or a deco item. So if I download the house, will it not show up in my game or will it show up and have the item glow blue like it does with CC?

If you download it with the clean installer it should still download to your game. But if you dont have it it wont let you download it and you'll get a message saying ' you dont have the expansion pack...' But Im not sure if nothing should show up when you get on the lot. I dont think it should.

This is dependent upon the version of your game engine. If your game engine is later than the game engine for the SP, then you should be fine. If not, then the lot will likely crash your game.

Here's a list of the order the Expansions came out and then the SPs and which EP they are based on. For the Stuff Packs, you need to use mods for the EP in parenthesis unless you have a higher EP than that installed.
