Alright this has been happening...Just recently. My game was wigging out, so I decided to uninstall it, then re-install it. And now..Well, I am not sure. I send my teens off to college with their skills to the max, and then one or two has this hideous low red bar, and I can't get it back up, or whatever. And the meshes are what not, are showing up weird, now.

What is going on?! Should I just say eff it and delete all the CC, and just go with the game as it is...I am just not sure what too do. I mean I have uninstalled it before, and now...Its just not acting the same...What did I do wrong? :( This truly saddens me, to no end :(

General - Do the Game Problem FAQ
You appear to have not gone through our main Game Help:Game Problem FAQ. Please go through and do the steps on this FAQ, including any others that it links to (for example the Game Help:Game Problem-Problem Custom Content FAQ).

Usually, in the vast majority of cases, actually going through and doing the steps (doing, not just reading) fixes issues - sometimes you may be asked to remove custom content, or to patch - please rest assured that all of our FAQs have been tested by our staff and volunteers and we wouldn't suggest you do something unless it's been known to fix particular issues.

Please do all the steps in the Game Problem faq and then let us know what happens.

I don't know about the meshes, but the grade glitch is common, and is only a nuisance. The grade is going up despite what the meter says - as long as they get all their skills they should pass just fine. Everybody I had with this glitch dean's listed, actually, because I got paranoid about not letting them skip class, and I never knew if I could afford to let them overlook that want to do an assignment or write a term paper. It's often connected to a particular lot. I haven't seen it in my game since I stopped moving people into a particular residence.

I just did the smart thing. Because I did those steps. I read them at least three different times. So, I ended up, just saying screwing it. And I ended up deleting one my user accounts. I am not kidding here, but the problems didn't start until I downloaded that stupid simPE, sure, it may not cause problems to others. But oh my gosh! It effed everything up for me. Meshes were coming up like...In blobs and/or not showing up at all. Then the College thing. So, to get rid of simPE completely, I deleted the user account, and I re-installed my games, Because I was honestly getting sick and tired of it. >.> It was being a pain.

And Peni, I got paranoid as well. And when the Sims that had that problem got on the Dean's List...I was like:

"Uhm, how in the heck did they!? Their thing was in red."

It was odd, so, I'll see what happens now that I got rid of the user account, and that stupid simPE -.-" I really hope that it works again :(

I'm rather curious about how SimPE messed anything up by simply being installed, as it's completely independent from the game. You can even have it installed and working on a system that doesn't have the Sims on it, if you are only going to be editing CC packages. (Just be sure you have the file table set correctly.) True, you can royally mess things up by editing the wrong thing, or editing something in the wrong way, but it should not damage anything by simply being installed on the computer any more than having Blender or Milkshape installed should damage anything. I don't mean to sound argumentative, but it sounds to me as though there was already a problem in that user account, and installing SimPE (which is a fairly large and memory intensive program) simply made it more noticeable.

Again: I don't mean to sound argumentative, and I hope I'm wrong here, but I'm not sure that your problems won't come back since you are still using the same computer. And I sincerely do wish you luck.

Deleting your user account wouldn't have removed SimPE. :)

I -did- miss that! They said nothing about uninstalling SimPE before deleting the user account.

I hope that the re-install (which was actually a step in the Game problem FAQ, wasn't it?) and the deletion of all the CC that was in the Documents in the user account does solve the problem before the OP ends up reformatting the hard drive to get rid of SimPE instead of using Add/Remove Programs to uninstall it.

Just one more thing:Because I did those steps. I read them at least three different times.Reading[ the FAQ is irrelevant, no matter how many times you do it. You need to actually follow all of the steps to get any benefit.

Anyway, I'm glad that you managed to resolve your problem.

Well, I have no clue what had happened. I uninstalled it, then EVERY file popped up as an Abode. My laptop is brand new. There wasn't anything wrong with it. I wonder if...I corrupted my files by uninstalling the SimPE, but I'll never install it again.

I did follow the steps, Mootilda. I said I read it a few times. But I did follow the steps. And it did fix it. And yes, by deleting my user account, I ended up deleting every file on there. Including the SimPE. Surely it may work for others, but it sure as heck didn't work for me..

I did do the steps, Mootilda. I just mentioned I read it a few times. :) But thank you, as I'm glad as well. :D
