I posted this over on the official Sims 3 forum as well, but I thought I'd try here just in case... I'm really getting frustrated by an issue I'm having right now.
For awhile now I've been having issues trying to complete certain opportunities. I've especially noticed this with Gardening opportunities, but it may be happening with other types as well and I'm just not remembering right now.
I have a family of Sims with a nice big garden. The Patriarch of the family started the Garden, and his eldest son has started taking over. (The Patriarch is now Elderly.) The Patriarch has finally gotten to the point he's ready to turn in 10 Outstanding Steaks so he can begin planting Omni seeds. I put the steaks in his inventory, and send him to the Bistro. He walks inside, and the opportunity looks like it's going through fine. He walks out of the Bistro a few minutes later... and nothing happens. The task is complete but there is no update. The opportunity is still there. I send him in again, with the same result.
I have a lot of game mods I've downloaded, and I have tried to remove all of them and try again... with the same result. I've tried doing multiple Google searches and I can't find anything. I've even tried to find a way to force the opportunity to complete with a cheat code.
I only have the base game and a single expansion, Ambitions.
Can anyone help me with this? The only thing I haven't tried yet is to abandon the opportunity, wait for it to show up again, and try again. Even though my Patriarch is Elderly, he's still getting updates on his Gardening career track. So I wouldn't think the fact that he's Elderly, or that his son is helping him, would have anything to do with blocking the opportunity from completing.
