Hello, MTS. After an unpleasant e-mail I received from the staff, a day spent looking for the bill and all the anger I've thrown on those idiots at my game market for selling me a torrented version of the game, I finally got home to start enjoying The Sims 3. Riiight. So there I was, entering Create A Sim, and then, right when I was about to enter my Sim's surname, I WTF'd.

I come from Croatia. We strange people have a different letter than English and American people, so in addition to the standard alphabet ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPRSTUVZ, we have some special characters like ČĆŠĐŽ. Of course we can use CSDZ instead of those, but it's like typn l1k thiz ya no. So... I'd really appreciate if any of you know how to change the letter/alphabet in The Sims 3, or add characters in it. Appereantly, I can't express myself. :)

Nobody from my friends plays TS3. They're still on Sims2. *cough dicks cough* And I don't have time or nerves going back to my game store and explaining them that I can't create myself in the game just because of one character.

PS I have also tried pressing ALTGR and 9 (so that I get " ´ "), and then pressing C which would normally in typing result in Ć. But no result. It's just like in The Sims (1).

I'm not an expert, but I rather thought that the alphabet that is used in the game would depend on the original language the game was installed in. I'm sure that a Russian, Greek, or Japanese player would have the same trouble if everything were transliterated into the "standard" alphabet as I would if everything were transliterated into one of theirs. And I know that there are Japanese and Russian players, because I've seen some really nice CC on Russian and Japanese sites. (Fortunately Google Translate helped find the "download" buttons. :) )

Of course, EA doesn't always make sense, and someone who sold a torrented copy of a game might replace it with a second torrented copy, so you -might- be stuck with what you've got.

Well, thanks Ghost sdoj. I mean, in The Sims (1) there was the same situation, only for example letter Ć was replaced by AE, and in The Sims 3 it's replaced with _.

But The Sims 2 had those characters! That's weird. :|

No, I don't think I got another torrented game. I went to my game store and asked for a full refond, and then went to another one. No matter if it is outside of town, if I gave money to buy a game, I want a retail copy of it, god dammit! *relax DJ. relax.*

Ah well. Looks like I'll be making some more "American" Sims and celebs. ;)

Thanks for the answer!
