I think it's safe to say that most people don't like the base games story progression. Something I've been wondering lately is which story progression mod(s) people like most and why. The only two I most know are awesome and nraas'. So which is your favorite story progression mod and why?

As for me, I use awesome's story progression. Two reasons, I use awesome for it's other features and nothing against nraas but his story progression seems very confusing with all the flavors and add-ons it has.

Twallan's StoryProgression is actually pretty simple. As far as I know it doesn't actually have different flavors, just options, and its add-ons are just extra town personality types.

I only use Twallan's and have not tried Awesomemod. I really like being able to change settings on the fly while my game is running. If you read the instructions for Twallan's mods, he tells you what the options are and what they do.

Unlike Awesomemod, which is monolithic, Twallan's system is componetized so you can select and install only those mods you want for your game and configure each one with many customizable options. Twallan actually has a lot of choices on the menu. It's a pretty sweet suite.

Something else I can do with Twallan's mods is have different settings for different games, for example not allow vampires in one town but allow them in another. I don't know if that is possible with Awesomemod.

I used awesome story when it first came out, and switched to Twallan's immediately after it came out. While the many options and setting of Nraas SP may be daunting at first, I actually like having that kind of control over what features I want in my SP, rather than handing over those decisions to a modder.
I haven't kept up with changes to awesome story, but I remember when I used it, it was impossible to set it so that elders were ineligible to romance YAs. And Pescado also didn't like teen romance, so his SP would never set teens as partners with each other. So what was happening my town was every teen that aged up to YA would have no pre-existing partner from high school. And because they'd age to YA as singles, they were immediately preyed on by some recently widowed elder. Pescado says that elders can romance YAs in real life, so he wouldn't make that a tunable setting. But my town was nothing but May-December romances, which annoyed me to no end.
Twallan's SPs lets the player decide these things. And once you've got your setting where you want them, you can export them and use them in any town you play. And as ziger said, you can change them easily on the fly if you decide you want something different.

You'll find extensive discussion of both approaches to Story Progression, including comments from both Pescado and Twallan on their respective philosophies, in this thread: http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=444198

Am I the ONLY simmer playing a nekkid game? I don't use any mods at all.....I just turn off story progression when I need to make adjustments to any family other than my main one.
