I was making a sims 2 story with one family, but I merged my family with another one and now all my pics and text are gone!! Is there ANY way to fix this?! or do I have to start my story ALL THE WAY BACK FROM THE F***ING BEGINNING?

The pics should still be there; check your Storytelling folder. You should also be able to access them from the new family's photo album window - there's a button somewhere to see all pics from the neighbourhood, not just the current family's pics.
The stories themselves are also stored as xmls in the storytelling folder, however I can't seem to find the actual descriptions anywhere.

Ok, I checked. The good news is that the pictures were not deleted from my computer or from the game itself and I can restore them into my merged family's blog, but the bad news is that the captions or the text to my story is all gone  Is there any way to restore the captions, or do I have to write them all over again?

Check the names of the pictures. The format should be snapshot_firstrandomalphanumeric_secondrandomalphanumeric. The first random alphanumeric sequence is the name of the household.
The webentry file where your text is will be named webentry_firstrandomalphnumeric.xml.
If you have a compatible .xml reader (I believe some editions, but not all, of Word will do it), you'll be able to read the text and see the associated pictures. If not, you'll still be able to read the text in a web browser, and can copy and paste it from there.
I do this all the time, copying captions from my webentry files to post under pictures in the pictures thread, to make up for the crappiness of my pictures, so I know it works.
For future reference, the album for a merged household will consist solely of the existing album for the household that was on the lot first - the one whose name will continue to identify the household unless you change it in SimPE or some other editor. You can integrate the two albums, but as far as I know only very laboriously. You have to go to the neighborhood tab on the organizing screen and scroll through page after page identifying the shots you want to integrate, then sit with the other webentry file open in whatever device lets you see the text, and copy/tab over/paste for each caption. I often decide who will move in with whom, depending on which household has the better/easier to integrate album.

Did you copy the text into the Album in-game? Or into the new lot's xml?
I would recommend not editing the xmls - they should both still be there, so you can copy the text back into the game - remember to save the text somewhere else first, or you'll overwrite it when you edit the album in-game!

Well I did find my solution, I still had the xml of the old version, so I printed it out and put the pics back into the family blog so I can write it manually back in. It's time consuming, but it seems to be right now the most fail safe thing I can do.
thank you so much for the help though! :luff:
