View Full Version : Maybe a weird question: What happens when someone dies on another lot?

ALRIGHT. I am not talking about community, by the way. I was always wondering this, because I plan on making a new family when I get OFB (I know I know, I am just getting the game) ANYWAY. I want to make you know grandparents, but I do not want them living with their kids.

So, if the elderly couple dies...Where does the Urn or grave plots go? Do they stay on that lot, orrrrr does Grim bring the urn to their kids?

I know a weird question. But if the grandparents die on a lot, and I want to be able to move in a new family without, you know people freaking out because a family is haunting the lot. Much like that Tricuo (Might have spelt that wrong) family.

I mean the first time I played the game, and I moved my Sims there...I had no clue what was going on. Surely I saw the graves, but danggg those ghosts are PEEVED.

No, the urns stay on the same lot if on a residential lot or apartment lot, however, for residential lots, if you have NL installed, the game will ask you if you want to move the graves to a community lot, but in apartment lots, if you have this fix:http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=316426 then you will be able to move the grave to a community lot.

The graves will stay on the lot, unless you move them. If you play the grandparents to the point of them dying of old age the graves will stay there until you move the new family in and move the graves yourself.

The urn/gravestone will stay on the lot that the grandparents passed away on. However, you should have the option to move the urn/grave to a different lot by clicking on the urb/gravestone (I believe that method came with a certain expansion pack...maybe Nightlife? I'm not sure).

Hope this helped :)

Edit: Wow, fail, I swear those other posts weren't there before. :faceslap:

Well, that's lame. I mean...Lameage! Now, their kids and grandkids:

Will they have memories that their grandparents/parents had passed, even without being on the lot, right?

Believe me, I am so confused, because this is the first time, I will let my Sims kill over, usually they are young parents and grandparents. But this time, I want it too look real. Because I think other Sims are getting suspicious that my Sims live so bloody long.

Yes, they will have a memory and will get an inheritance.

Shweeeeeeeeeeet. I just wish that there was a hack now, that brought like the urn to their kids. Instead of getting a memory. That seems so lame :(

Can't you use BoolProp Testingcheatenabled to summon the grave or something?

Uhm. I am actually not sure? Lol. I just would like for their kids with the urn. But seeing that Grim Reaper doesn't bring it. I guess the new residents will be in for a little surprise. I guess that could work, why the house is so cheap because an elderly couple passed away there. But the real estate agents won't tell them o.O

If you don't want the new residents to have the urns at home, get them to move it to a cemetery, or, to any community lot temporarily, then get back home, save, got N'Hood view, go to the family of those who are dead get one of them to the community lot with the grave and let them move the grave.

You could have a member of the family move in and add the urns to their inventory and move out again. You'd need to fiddle with the household money though to stop them getting stupidly wealthy from all the moving around.

I have an undertaker sim who owns the graveyard and I invite them over, give them the urn and they put it in the cemetary. It's a dirty job but someone's gotta do it. Mind you I have the aging off, a never die mod, a resurrect thing-a-ma-jig and don't let any sim repair anything ever and am diligent about fire alarms. Haven't had any urns for a long while.
