Okay, so i have bought they Sims 3 and finaly got it!! Have two sims, Amber and John. My first question is:
1.So, for some reason my sim is wearing a blue cap, blue jeans and a blue t-shirt, whats going on???
2.Do Sims age while ur playing another household?/ If a playing a household, will others sims in households im not playing as age??
Sorry for the questing, but there making my head spin!

1. Because... umm... those are the clothes your sim is wearing? I don't get the question - did you choose different clothes for your sim in CAS or something?
2. Yes, by default other households will age, have children, get married, move house, die, etc. without your intervention. If you switch households to another one, Amber and John will no longer be under your control and may die, move away, or otherwise change. You can turn "Story Progression" off to eliminate this, or you can get a number of mods that change story progression to your liking - Awesomemod is one, Twallan's Nraas mods have another (but those are only the most popular; there are others).

A lot of work, as in a job? It's likely the clothes he's in is a career outfit, then - sims will wear whatever clothes are appropriate for their career. There are mods which let you change this outfit.
Story progression can be turned off in the game's options (use the little ... icon in the bottom left to get to the options).

No. HystericalParoxysm has confused "Story Progression" with "Aging", they are separate systems in EA Standard.
On the same window as the "Enable Story Progression" option, there is also an "Enable Aging" option. Disable that as well.
You will need to manually age your active sims after you do so, using a birthday cake, or cheats. :)
