Medieval Male Doublets for Teens, Adults, and Elders CAS - Ye Olde Kingdom of Pudding
Made by Kiara24 for The Merrye Makers
Greetings, good gentles/ladies. We are The Merrye Makers - a group of twelve creators spanning all disciplines (clothing, lots, objects, etc.) offering for thy downloading pleasure a collection of medieval things most beauteous from Ye Olde Kingdom of Pudding -- otherwise known as "Simdom Pudding".
In Simdom Pudding, most wore loose linen or wool tunics befitting their profession or status. Men usually wore tunics down to their knees, though old men and monks wore their tunics down to the ground, and so did the King and noblemen for parties and ceremonies. Tailors created clothing for the wealthy in Ye Olde Kingdom of Pudding, but most of the population made their clothing themselves so that they would never be nude. Colors were plain. They were shades of gray, brown, dark blue, and red - except for King Crumplebottom who wore golden crowns and brightly colored silks.

Simmy - I cannot find a link anywhere for the trousers.
However, I have the poly count for the shoes.
LOD1 = 456
LOD2 = 222
LOD3 = 102

Thanks, Leesester! Is that elders, teens, and adults? (That's the order they are in in the download.) The pants are in the "Ye Olde Kingdom of Pudding - Medieval Male Clothing" thread. (I separated the pants out directly for the upload rather than making a thread here.) SimmyRN

Made a thread asking for more time for the shoes in CI. Thanks! SimmyRN

Also, I must be blind or stupid or something as I cannot find that male clothing thread...do you have a link to it?

No problem! Here's the link: http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=463003. Sorry, I don't understand. Do I add all the poly numbers together for a total for all three shoes - elder, teen, adult - meaning that they all have the same poly count? Or, do the three LOD lines mean that LOD1 is elder, LOD2 teen, etc.? (I wish I knew more about this, but I've never ventured into custom objects or clothing as I stopped using them in my game.) Thanks! SimmyRN

It is ok Simmy - basically, all the shoes seem to be using the same modified mesh. However, with most Sims3 objects there are things called LOD's. If I tell you that LOD is an acronym for Level of Detail then you will go AAAHHHH.
Indeed. So as you zoom out from your sim the lower polygon meshes are used to display the items and this is less strain to render the scene.
So, LOD 1 is what you see when you are zoomed in on your sim, and LOD 3 is what you see when you are far away from your sim.
Item Name, Channels, Polygons LOD1, Polygons LOD, Polygons LOD3
Teen Shoes, ?, 456,222,102
Adult Shoes, ?, 456,222,102
Elder Shoes, ?, 456,222,102

In the "Tiptorial" Whiterider linked to, it says to use the LOD1 for clothes so that's what I'll go with. I don't have any of the modding tools mentioned in the Tiptorial to look up the poly counts, though, so I appreciate your help! Whiterider approved more time, so we'll see if Kiara responds. SimmyRN

Hi all!
I made some little changes on the textures of the doublets and some fixes on the shoes (less flat on the front part).
I'm posting the files and one picture here.
Simmy: could you please test the doblets and shoes for to see if those are ok?
Thanks! :lovestruc

Monca -
I downloaded the new files, checked them out, and took pictures. The only problem I found is that the elder doublet with the frog closure is not showing in CAS even though I had it in my Packages folder. All the other doublets were fine. Can you check the flags on it, please? Thanks!

Thanks, Monca! I submitted the shoes for upload. We'll see what happens. I hope that the mod doesn't like the seam at the back again. In fact, it's natural to have a seam at the back of shoes. That is where the two side pieces would be connected. Anyway, fingers crossed! :gjob:

You know, I couldn't see that seam...
What I saw was the ankle part a bit too large, so I deepen it.

Great job, monca! We couldn't have done it without your revisions.
I submitted the doublets. Everyone keep your fingers crossed!
monca - do you know how to get the polys for the men's pants here: http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=463003? I don't have any of the software used to get them. Thanks!

Oh my, Simmy! You're making me blush! All the work was very well done by Kiara, I just did very small tweaks. :lovestruc
All the pants are based on bottoms nude, so, all of them have the same numbers:
lod1 = 774, lod2 = 438, lod 3 = 217.
Fingers crossed! :bunny:
