Hey Everyone

Yesterday I installed Open for Business to my game, but it just kept crashing. The thing is I load the game and right after the EA icon shows up it crashes and gives me the message "An error occurred while the sims was running and the program had to shut down" (Something like that the message is of course in German in my game). So I uninstalled Open for Business again and put my back up files back in, but now it keeps crashing at this point. I have tried to take out all my user files, but it's still doing it.
I had installed the base game along with Uni, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage and Freetime. Do I have to reinstall everything now or is there a way to get it to work just like it did before I installed Open for Business?

Sure, sorry I forgot about it...

Windows 7 32-bit-version
Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 DUO CPU T6500 2.1GHz
4096MB RAM
Videocard: NVIDIA GeForce G105M

Is that all you need to know?

As far as I can tell, your graphics are not adequate. You should read this:

and especially this:

Were your backups made before or after you installed OFB?

Well that's frustrating...

Yes, I made them before I installed. The crashing also has nothing to do with my user files, I tested that already

I suppose that there's no harm in making sure that you have done the entire Game_Help:Game_Problem FAQ, just to make sure that there's nothing else causing the crashes. Just be sure to keep your backup in a safe place.

If you reinstall everything, make sure to install just the base game, patch, and then run the game to see whether it works. Try to play for long enough that you know for sure that it's not going to crash. Then, install University, patch, and run the game to see whether it works. Same for Pets, then Seasons (assuming that your games list is up-to-date) This will allow you to see whether your system can handle some of your EPs. For example, it may be able to run the base game and University, but you find that you start having problems with Pets.

The onboard graphics FAQ gives you a lot of good information about reducing the strain on your computer. The more things in that FAQ that you can do, the less strain on your computer.

Thanks... I've already done that, so I guess there's no other option than reinstalling which has to wait for another two weeks, so I can get the game CDs -.-
