I've read a few posts here that you can make your own CAS townies in game. I got bored of those fugly maxis townies and it's completely boring when I see the townies in custom neighborhoods are the same with the townies in Pleasantview :(
So how can I make my own CAS townies? Do I need a hack?

You need something to turn them into townies - the biggest vote goes to Argon's townie brick available at MATY because it properly changes the vacation locals to proper vacation locals with all the actions. But if you just want townies either Inge's cat or the in-game townie gun will do it. I think also the SimBlender but don't quote me on that.
If you're happy with the townie gun, this is what you do:
1. Create your sims in CAS/Bodyshop
2. Move them into a lot with a spare sim who you are happy to leave behind (I have a singleton sim living on a small lot just for this purpose, though you can also move the new townies in with any resident family, it's just that they will have relationships established with all family members). The process needs to have one sim left behind so you can exit and save the lot to fix the changes.
3. Spawn the gun (or place the hacked object)
4. Select your townie sim, click on gun/object
5. Select the option to make them whatever type of townie you want (there are a lot, look for the option that says 'make me ...').
To spawn the gun, if you don't know.
1. Turn on Debug Mode (you might need to do this in neighbourhood view, if it doesn't work immediately) - that is put boolprop testingcheatsenabled true in the cheat box and press enter
2. I *think* shift-click on the sim to find the spawn actions. **
3. Look for the NPC/townie generator
Note - if you already have townies in the neighbourhood, this won't replace them, just add to the pool.
** Damn - can't remember, I'm going to have to go off and check that. Be back shortly. Edit - made changes to instructions.

Wow, thanks for the quick reply! :lovestruc
Is it really safe to create a townie?
I also heard about the teleport shrub but don't know much about it. But it sounds much more simple to use.

There are two teleport objects at Simlogical (Inge's place) - one is the shrub you are referring to, the other is the cat I mentioned above. You should really get the cat since it was made later than the shrub and has more options. However, you might want the shrub since it's easy to hide in sims' front gardens and so is unobtrusive in use. I have one on every lot - either the cat or the shrub. You can have both without any problems.

Make sure you get the right one. (I also note there's a picture too - didn't know that)
Yes, it's safe to make a townie. Some of us have made hordes of them.

I have EPs up to Seasons. So I have to use the teleporter for pets? How to use it? Like, where I can find the teleporter thing?
Sorry for asking too much, I just want to make sure that I won't mess my game .. :|

Yes, the one for Pets.
You buy it from the catalogue and plonk it on your lot. Select a sim and click on it just like any other object.
I think the bush is in garden plants while the cat is somewhere in decorative. It's only $1 so it's on the first page of the catalogue anyway.
