Hello :D I've discovered this forum and it seems to be very helpful :kami: I just need some help to find my way on the Sims Body Shop... I hope this is the right forum too

Well, here's the story; I'm editing the clothes and etcs to make sim 2 versions of my characters. Here's a sample of what I have so far:

As you can see, (besides from mistakes I made on the clothes that will be fixed later) there are two nasty bumps on her arms: product of the original mesh of the cloth item. I've readed BriAnna's tutorial (http://forums.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=43092) but that doesn't seems what I want to do (or maybe it is... I'm just kinda lost)

I just want to delete those bumps, and editing the texture file doesn't seems to work. I don't really look for my ''own'' bumps, a simple plain item would be ok

Here are the clothes file (it's not perfect yet, I didn't want to continue editing it before I could work this out)

And this is the Texture file made with the nVidia plugin in Adobe Photoshop 7 (not perfect, I made it quick to see the result)

I have these programs: Sims Body Shop (I don't have the game, though), Photoshop 7.0, Sim PE... I don't have a 3D modeling program, I wonder if I need one to make this simple edit (I don't want to make new stuff yet, really)

I don't know if anyone understood me ^^; I'm not used yet to talk about the Sims in English.

I wanted to ask too, what's the way to make new hair styles? If it's complicated also tell me... I have to learn to finish the special hairstyles of the chars I'm making ^^;

I hope I didn't make too much nonsense...

What outfit did you use to export out so you could modify it? You might look to see if there is a outfit that more closely resembles what you are wanting to do with your character, then export it, and copy over your 2 files there. Those bumps would be part of the mesh from the original outfit. You might look for one that just has bare arms. Export it out, then switch your 2 files for the corresponding files in that export.

Well, I've tried that, and also tried to edit the Texture file, but without result  Even more, when I do that the clothe doesn't show anymore.
Thanks for the reply ^^

Huh? It should work. Export one w/ a diff mesh. copy everything from your current project into the new project. Then reimport the file. And you can delete the original one w/ the bumps afterwards.

Still not working ;_; *sticks herself* I wonder if there's something with the filename or something like that... I'll try to look for some tutorials to see if I made any mistake o_O

Here's your top minus the bumps in the mesh.

Aww, thank you so much :) May I ask how you did it? I don't want to bother around everytime I make a mistake

I just exported out a shirt that generally matched your shirt (ie. the tummy exposed) that had a crew neck and short sleeves. I copied your shirt over the top of it, then opened the alpha file and the shirt file in my graphics program. I modified the alpha so that it would correspond to your shirt, necklace, bracelets and arm bands(?). saved the alpha and re-imported it back into BS. Nothing special..Other then selecting as close as a match to what you wanted before I started. Your welcome.

Thank you for the answer. :) I did exactly like you did but still not working (I've used another clothe and all). I'm guessing my computer is not responding as good as it should be :) I'll try again later

Hmm..weird..not sure why it isn't letting you do it...here is the shirt I exported out to make yours. What shirt did you export out to make it?

I don't know the name of it, I can tell it something that looks like this but in light blue: http://prodtn.cafepress.com/6/16415876_F_tn.jpg
It comes in the started pack of the Sims Body shop download site.
I really want to learn to make my own meshes and hairs, I wonder if there's any way to make them with Milkshape :) Here's a sample of what I'm going to make (if I'd ever be able to, of course) http://fs6.deviantart.com/i/2005/048/f/7/The_Gang_Screentones_by_ShouriMajo.jpg (do not repare on the drawing style since it was a quick bad looking doddle to test computer screentones :) )... I guess I have a long way to go yet

The problem with that shirt is the sleeves are too long, it maybe that the mesh was made for that shirt with the sleeves stopping where they did, and since your sleeves stopped too soon that left part of the mesh exposed and that is where the 'bumps' came from. There is a lot you can do with milkshape, the biggest problem is learning enough about it to be effective with it. I do wish you well with your endeavors!
