Fireflies not showing up

Butterflies / fireflies are not showing in my user-created world. I've been playing a new game in this world for sim-weeks now.They do show up in Starlight Shores though.

Any ideas?

recently i have noticed the same thing, which is that butterflies dont exsist in my game anymore.
frustrating.
hope someone knows the cause and solution.
