Hi! My name is Jen and I'm shockingly new to this community. Gotta admit I've been lurking for a while but... I figured what the heck? Let's sign up! I'm a 23 year old gal from Ontario, Canada with lots of love for things called Harry Potter and the Sims. I'm a full-time Translator so it's always a relief to switch my brain off once I get home and control other little people's lives... haha. I look forward to talking to all of you! :)

Hi Jen! Nice to meet you! You're a translator? That must be very demanding work.

Thank you VerDeTerre, nice to meet you too! Yeah it can get very tedious, I do tend to be a little brain dead when I get home ;) But I love it so far.

Hi Jen! Welcome to MTS! :D
What languages are you capable of translating? :)

Hi haricots, and thanks!!
So far I'm working with only two languages: French and English. They are the two official languages in Canada, so everything government-related (at least) and national needs to be in both languages. I am hoping to branch out into more foreign languages eventually though!

I always want to master French..
Okay, not mastering it, just...I want to be able to speak and use French.. ._.
I failed two times for my French back in my Elementary School, and now I finally realize that language isn't my thing.. ._. LOL

Well, I got kinda lucky because my mother is French and my father is English. I never actually had to learn a language... maybe I wouldn't be so good at it at all lol French really is a tough language to pick up though, with all the (useless and annoying) grammar rules that come with it. I find the best way to go about it, especially because that's how I remember really learning English (besides from talking to my father, my mother tongue is French) was to watch English movies. That really helped me understand the spoken language. Then in highschool I got really into Harry Potter fanfictions, and started writing a lot of my own. That helped as well :)
So basically, if you find something you're interested in, try applying it in French if it's possible! Even listening to music is a great way!
