Hello! If you had a problem with the game that your custom content did not show, here is the solution to making the mods work again! * :!!: THIS SOLUTION SHOULD BE ONLY USED AS A LAST RESORT METHOD! Only use this method if you DESPERATELY want your custom content back! more info at the second to last paragraph

I basically just transferred the old game from that Current Game.sims3 file to the new Current Game.sims3 file. ONLY THAT besides the mod transferring. So I don't know what else I was supposed to transfer, but I do know I would get the most important stuff.

1. Copy the whole Sims 3 folder onto the desktop and any other place you’d like to back it up to.

2. Delete the Sims 3 folder in the Electronic Arts folder.

3. Enter the game, then save and quit it so you have a default fresh game saved.

4. Remember that you have the copied Sims 3 folder on your desktop? Open it, and go into the Current Game folder and choose out your saved game.

5. Copy your chosen file and paste it into:
Finder>Documents>Electronic Arts>Sims 3>Current Game.sims 3

(‘‘Didn’t I just delete the Sims 3 folder?’’ You did delete it, but when you went into the game, it regenerated a new, fresh Sims 3 folder.)

6. For the custom content, you have to get a new Mods folder to assure everything is correctly placed. You can get the Framework.zip file and extract it to get the Mods folder. Here’s the link to the zip file: http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Installing_Sims_3_Package_Files/Setup_and_Files
There should be a mods folder with 2 folders in it called Overrides and Packages and another little file called Resource.cfg. In the packages folder there are tester mods, to see if the content will work.

7. If Rick’s No Intro mod works (The game automatically skips the tediously long intro) then that means the packages will work. Hooray! If the intro is still there, you may need to seek professional consultations from the creators of EA or the helpful administrators from Mod The Sims.

8. Now you can transfer your mods. If you are deeply convinced one of your mods is causing a problem, handpick them out one by one into another folder to check for problems. One of them could be outdated and conflicting with other mods, or they could be a simply bad mod. I would suggest you look into your downloads history and find the original page to check.

9. For me, I had to do this whole process because there was a corrupted file, and it was affecting the placement of my packages. Transfer your package files from the backup Sims 3 folder to the new one.
Paste into: Finder>Documents>Electronic Arts>Sims 3>Mods>Packages

10. The time length of this process depends on the amount of packages you have. I had about 200, so it took me a while. Its easy though, if you have about 40 packages or less, you can just transfer the whole batch to the new mods folder. But like me, I had to get transfer packages by 40 or 50 at a time, so the computer wouldn’t crash with overload. Get the batch and transfer it into the new mods folder, go into the game, and let the game load it, and again. If you had the same problem as I did, the custom content you transferred would start showing in the game.

11. Yippee! Now everything is back to normal. If I missed a file(s) that’s needed to be transferred, please list what they or it is. Like, for one, your saved patterns and custom stuff made in Customize An Item mode won’t show up (or will it?) I’m not sure which specific file this is, since I’m not a software genius.

Thanks to the people who gave bits of information that helped create this plain tutorial for game newbs! But if this tutorial is comprehensible (I think it is) then ask someone to put it in easier words for you. I tried hard to make it as comprehensible as I can! Happy Simming!

Excuse me asking, but I fail to understand the purpose of transferring the CurrentGame folder into a fresh user folder. As far as I understand it this folder only holds files *while* you play and empties itself when you quit. The only time I find it containing any files is after a crash, so you're basically suggesting to transfer a crashed game?
