It all started when I got Late Night. At first it was fine but a whole after I started playing it, I started getting the error code 12. I play with no custom content except for a few of Twallan's mods and the no intro mod, plus a custom world which I'm not able to play anyway. I am able to save once, maybe twice before I get the error. I have tried all the little tips, and spoke to people from EA on the little chat thing they used to have and nothing helped. I'm wondering if my laptop just simply isn't able to handle TS3? I am more than willing to get a new laptop or desktop computer for any price means necessary. I would ideally like to have all the TS1 EP's installed on my new one as well as I'd still like to play that, as well as the new Sim City when it is released in February next year.
These are my computer specs:

Windows 7 Home Premium
Presario CQ42 Notebook PC
Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU
M 350 @ 2.27 GHz
4.00 GB RAM (2.99 usable)
32-bit Operating System

Hi! Just to say I have the same problem. I removed already all CC packages, all sim3pack (DCCache, DCBackup), and still have the error 12, now even at first time... Done the crash analyzer (sometimes it crashes too), it says large adress aware, i fixed as the instructions............... still have the error 12 !!!
In this computer I have all Sim2 expantions and stuff packs and all Sim3 expantions and stuff packs. In an other computer I have the Sims Compllete Colection. I really love it and i'd like to go on playing happily. I would like to buy Diesel stuff and the new World, but I'm afraid to lose the money if I can't play any more.................. Please somebody hellp !!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing much we can help with on a notebook with a 32bit Operating System - the Saving errors are inevitable. You're limited by the Software (32bit only recognizing 3.25GB RAM) and the hardware - notebooks are not upgradeable - not HP Notebooks in any case.

If you want advise for purchasing new hardware, @shaaaii, head on over to the Hardware Tech side: http://my.modthesims.info/forumdisplay.php?f=563
Read stickies, read other threads, read especially the System Requirements.
Then when you're ready to spend your money, post
- if comfortable to self-build or want a pre-build (we have successful first-time selfbuilders, so don't be daunted, just take it slow and at your own pace)
- budget: target and maximum amount
- country of purchase
- what is not needed: monitor, DVD, keyboard, mouse, HDD, etc...
- what monitor size you have or if getting new, what size and if multi-monitors setups is in the cards
- purpose: just Sims games or other requirements too?
- any other specific requirements not covered above

Put together a list of stuff you want and someone will comment on its suitability. Even if you don't understand the terms, putting together something just shows me you have done some research and done the required reading. And, if you include some questions, we can gauge where your comfort level is and how "techy" to go.

Oh thankyou so much! Finally a good reply after so long of wondering! So it is my computer that is causing this, thank god. I have tried it on a friends computer and it works fine so I realised my laptop must be the issue. I'll take on board everything you've said and go from here :)
