Several big gameplay bugs

Hi, I have searched these forums and the official forums and have come across a lot of players who have these very same issues with or without any mods or CC. But I never found a working solution, so I was wondering what other people's experiences are.

My setup:
i7 core
24Gb RAM
GTX 580 Nvidia
Windows 7 64-bit ultimate
All EP's, SP's and Base game is 1.34

These three big bugs started appearing after patch number x.xx (don't know which patch it was that broke everything):
- NO HOTSPOTS: reading the paper does not give any hotspots anymore whatsoever in any town under any circumstance. I also never get the hotspot icon in map view anywmore (used to, though, some patches ago).

- NO MORE UNICORN GLOW: yep, never never is there any unicorn glow on the neighborhood map view (I have a mod that makes unicorns appears every single night). I used to have this glow every night. Now never (even with the mod, and no, it is not the mod that is conflicting. I checked it myself, it is compatible and up to date. And I did have this glow every night before with this mod).

- INVISIBLE PERFORMERS AT SIMFEST: this is one that really, really pisses me off. I can understand you can't catch all of your bugs during testing. But this is supposed to be one of the main selling points of this EP! And it doesn't work??? Are there ANY known solutions or workarounds?

I have found bits and pieces of info in various threads hinting that some patches broke all of these three features and that these problems are apparently well known. What I would like to know though, is if there are any solutions?

I'm not sure if it might cause the issue with unicorns but I know an outdated "No Mosaic" mod will cause a lot of glowing things not to work. If you have one I suggest you check and see if there's an updated version. That's the only thing I personally can guess. I hope this might help.

Thanks for the suggestion. I don't use a "No Mosaic" mod though, at least not one that uses the graphic settings to get rid of it.

Have you gone through the game problem faq? If so, what were the results of each step? And if not, please do so.

Well I feel stupid...

The Unicorn mod... when I updated it myself for compatibility I simply forgot to change the %. I changed it to 100% and now I have the Unicorn glow every night again!

The no hotspots and invisible performers came from slightly (JUST slightly) outdated mods apparently. And also a mod conflict between Twallan's Register and a "More Attentive Bartender" mod. What threw me off before was that the three bugs I mentioned had been experienced by users who didn't have any CC or mods whatsoever. And I thought I had my mods in order. But seems EA has fixed these bugs and they were still in my game because of conflicts and outdated stuff. OOOOOPS.
