Okay, this is a little hard to explain. I had sims 3 working just fine and I tried to add mods to it, such as Woohooer. I made some mistake because my game crashed and wouldn't work anymore so I ended up having to uninstall & reinstall it. But when I did so, the folder that's in Documents>ea games>sims 3 is just GONE. There's a sims 3 folder in program files but the one in documents is no where to be found and this is where I'm supposed to put mod files. My game won't work now. When I launch it, it opens to a black screen that seems like sims is about to open, but then it crashes and says there was an error. I've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it a few times.. I don't know what else to try. :( Please help!
EDIT: I reinstalled the game AGAIN and got a sims 3 folder to finally appear in documents>ea games but it doesn't have all the folders it should. My game is loading up now, but I'm still missing way too many folders. Here's a screenshot of how my Sims 3 folder looks compared to how it SHOULD look. Can anyone help me figure out how to get the missing folders?

A couple of things occur to me, so I thought I'd mention em in case they're any help:
1) When you tried to install WooHooer, etc, did you do it in the proper way? i.e. In the Documents rather than Program Files folder? And if not, could that be why it got messed up?
2) After reinstalling, did you start the game at least once from the Launcher to generate the EA file in Documents? Or did you try to launch it from the TS3W file first off?
Like I said, I'm not sure if those thoughts are relevant, but I thought Id ask in case.

Hm I DID launch it straight from TS3W.

I uninstalled it and reinstalled it AGAIN, and opened the launcher first this time but that made no difference. :(

Did you actually run the game once from the launcher, not just open it? Just to ask and make sure - can't think what might be wrong otherwise.

About the folder been deleted when uninstalling the game it only do that if you choose yes when it asks if you wanto remove the user files, and the fact that it did not remove The SIms 3 folder from program files tells me that you had some folder/files there that was not native for game, which might be why it is not working after the reinstall.
Make sure there is no mods folder in there Files/Old Way to New Way (http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Installing_Sims_3_Package_Files/Old_Way_to_New_Way) or any other files left from that way to use mods.
It doesn't matter if you run launcher or game the first time, to make the folder iniatially as both do it, the sub-folders are created when needed.
The mods folder is not native for the game, you have to either create it your self (you need to know how to make the needed sub-folders & files in there) or use the simple solution and use the framework setup (http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Installing_Sims_3_Package_Files/Setup_and_Files) from the help section here.

Are you looking in the correct folder? I notice that you are viewing the Documents library, as opposed to your documents folder. It could be that you're viewing the shared/ public folders, so check that first.
If you are looking in the right place, then the fact that your user files aren't generating could indicate that your install isn't complete.
Try doing a complete clean uninstall, and then reinstall.

I've followed all the directions I've found on how to install custom made clothing into my sims 3 game. I'm extracting the simpack files into documents>ea games>sims 3>downloads, then opening the sims launcher, selecting all, and installing. It goes through the process and says they were successful. But they aren't in the game and when I reopen the launcher, the launcher still gives me the option to install them and say they aren't installed. Can anyone help me?
I've installed an outfit or two in the past and a neighborhood and they worked so I have no idea why these aren't working since I'm doing it the same way. And I know the files are legit, I got them from lianasims3.net

If it won't work as .sim3pack, then i suggest you convert them to .package. Deply's Sims 3 Pack Multi Extracter (http://www.modthesims.info/d/364038) can convert them.
I'm not sure if you've dealt with .package before, but read the instructions on this site if you aren't. http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Sims_3:Installing_Package_Files
The problem with the sims3pack saying it was sucessful but didn't show, I just converted as well.
Or you could try just double clicking on the file (without moving to Downloads). Does that work?

Oddly enough, they work if I add them one at a time.. They only don't work when I open the launcher, click 'select all' and then install.

I know how to use package files. I added a BUNCH of CC today in .package format and I moved around some files and whatnot and I'm worried I accidentally deleted something or moved something to the wrong spot because now NONE of my packages are working? (I have woohooer, dex the bear, and the nointro packages.) They've always worked before and now they suddenly don't. I have no idea what I did wrong. I have my mods folder in documents>ea games>sims 3. I have a Packages folder, and Overides folder, and the resource.cfg in my mods folder. Can someone help me figure out how I messed this up?
I already tried deleting my caches. I also deleted every .package except for the .no intro one to see if it was a corrupt package file but even with only the no intro package, it doesn't work.

Well I got impatient and tried to fix the problem myself again and made the whole thing worse. I read somewhere that I shouldn't have the d3dx9_31.dll file on my computer so I searched my computer for that file and deleted all that came up. But then, when I tried to open sims it said it needed that file to run. So I went to my recycle bin and restored the files, but now when I opened sims it says there was an error and the game crashes.

d3dx9_31.dll is actually part of directx, which the game does need to run. So if you deleted that file from the Directx files as opposed to your Sims 3 files, you could be in need of reinstalling Directx.
First thing to try though is to test your Sims game with a fresh set of user files.

I have a two story house with a basement. Two toddlers share a room on the second floor, the parents shared the basement. When I tell one of the parents to do almost anything with the toddlers (put in crib, potty train, snuggle, feed on floor, etc) they almost always just go downstairs. Like, the sim's action says what I told it to do but it will go to the floor the kids ARE NOT ON and the sim will get confused and the action will go away. I thought maybe it was how the second floor was made or something since this is a house I made myself so switched the parents and toddlers bedrooms. But even now, when I have a parent sim go to the basement and click 'snuggle' on a child, the parent will go upstairs and the action will cancel. Only about 1 out of every 3 times I tell the parent to interact with the child will the action actually go through. I have to just keep trying to get them to take care of their children which is really annoying since hours can be wasted by the parent not doing what I tell them to.
Is this a known glitch, is there a solution?

I haven't heard of a bug like that, although it might be a bug. To rule everything else out, why not try the Game Problem FAQ. http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Sims_3_Game_Problem If tattoo sliders can make it impossible to get anything in buy mode, it's not inconceivable that you have some CC causing the problem, or that the lot has gotten glitched. You do not have to save any game that you start with your CC gone. This is just to test.
(And if that doesn't help, I suppose you could always tell the parent to "go here" and then block the stairs with a statue or something so they are at least forced to stay on the same floor with their toddlers.)

Known glitch. Try to initiate the interaction when both parent and toddler Sims are on the same floor/storey.
Without knowing the layout of the Lot and the floorplans, we can't really tell, though. And like Ghost said, bad CC can create all sorts of havoc.
Also, in doing forum maintenance, I noticed you have 4 threads opened in Help. Are the issues in the other 3 resolved? We usually, well mainly me, prefer for each individual to have one thread for ALL issues so we have a history of what's going on in one place. Easier to see patterns emerging and if each issue is related to the others.

Sorry I'm very new to the site and still figuring out how things work around here. Well, I have not solved this problem yet. But I haven't been able to even try to fix the problem because I haven't been playing because I'm dealing with a new glitch. :( The new glitch is that the child in the house can't do his homework. It says it's 0% done but when I tell him to do the homework, he just doesn't do it. If it's on the floor, he'll just put it in his inventory and if it's in his inventory already, he just pulls it out and puts it right back. I haven't wanted to play because I don't want him getting bad grades.

The stairs issue - head on over to Create -> Sims 3 -> Building subforum. Search for "stairs". Sometimes the issues are due to the way the staircases are build.
The other glitches -
Do you play with CC?
Is your CC now installed in Documents? Or did you mess around with the dxwhatever.dll file in Programs?
What is your patch version?
Have you done the Game Problem FAQ, yet? And thus after doing step#3 of the FAQ, test if all the glitches you have experience is still there on new Sunset Valley with a default EA Household and 100% cc-free?
(Well, that answers it - I'm not going to be hunting all the threads to hell and back to see if the above questions were asked before and already answered)
ETA: Ok merging done.
Please post a quick summary of issues you're still experiencing at this time? And answer my questions, too. I've since crossed out the first, since after merging and reading from the top, we now know that you do. ;)
And which of the guides (either linked above or you've found on our Wiki or elsewhere) that you've followed, and where it didn't help or the outcome is not as stated in the guides.
