View Full Version : Bump mapping?

For the past two days all I've been trying to do is make a skirt. After hours of kicking milkshape I think I finally have some handle on it only to run face first into another wall: bump mapping. I've looked over nearly every tutorial I could get my hands on for it and I'm still completely at a loss about what I do with them and how to make them. My question is is there a tutorial that literally will spell it out? preferably in vid form since every text tutorial has been absolutely useless for me. :(
I'm just trying to make some clothes I can't find and absolutely refuse to "use my imagination" with already existing sims items ( I'm just that hard headed )
Any help would be greatly appreciated ; x ;

As part of my CAS Creation guide (http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=CAS_Creation_From_Start-To-Finish), the dear sweet Elexis gave us a tutorial on creating bumpmaps. You'll find it here: http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Tutorials:Creating_Bumpmaps_(Normal_Maps)_for_TS3
It's pretty easy. I used it to make my own bump maps, actually.

Thank you very much ; w ; *runs off to look*
Edit: oh for cripes sakes....you wouldn;t happen to know where I can get the Photoshop plugin too would you? It seems the Nvidia site has closed up shop. >x>;
Edit again: Never mind I am apparently blind in one eye and can;t see out of the other for I did not notice the other options. :faceslap:

It closed? Didn't know that, thanks for pointing that out!
ETA - Ah, it seems it's only a temporary response. Thank goodness.

Yep for the time being for the safety of others it has shut down to do some repairs ( I think )
Now I only need to have patience. *fidgets* well guess I got time for that duct tape wallet now.

*fidgets* well I feel like a dummy for asking but how would I do it for a skirt exactly? . x . ;;; Don't get me wrong the tutorial that was linked to me made a light bulb turn on finally but it's starting to blink out >x>;;;

that only explains how to do a top. I have no idea how on earth I'd apply it to a skirt since to me the maps look different between them. . x . ; *fidget*

There is just one map(UV) used for sims clothing.
So there is no diffrence between tops, bottoms or fullbody.
