Does anyone still have issues saving screenshots to the above path when they press the "C" key in-game? With the image not being created at all? Since the feature is available for both PC and Mac, this would apply to anyone on any platform, even Linux if you play on that OS.
I want to know if anyone who has this issue has ever tried to copy the Sims3.ini file from base game to the same relative path for your last-installed pack. And if you have done it, are you able to create screenshots in the above Screenshots folder with the "C" key with this workaround?
I can't seem to replicate this issue in both my PC and Mac partitions (both Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and Lion 10.7.4), so I cannot test. Having the sims3_ini.package in my own \Mods\Overrides folder does not appear to bork my game when I test it and I can still use the "C" key to capture screenshots, so meh, right? Inconclusive!
Once this workaround is confirmed to work for Everyone, then I'll upload the zip file via proper channels.
Compatibility
This is for games on patch 1.36.
What you need to do
Choose one Method below. Method 1 means you don't need to wait for anyone to provide the file. (eta) And if you had done your own edit of this file for Machinima or whatever, this is the method to choose. (/eta)
The 2nd method means you won't need to mess with files in Program Files path.
Method 1
Go to this path: \Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin. (eta#2)On Macs, remember that you have to do the right-click and "Show Package Contents" extra step.(/eta#2)
Locate Sims3.ini file
Copy
Go to this path in your last installed pack, if it is Diesel Stuff pack, then \Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 Diesel Stuff\Game\Bin. eta#2 tip applies here as well for Macs.
Paste
Load the game and test
Method 2
Download the .zip file and extract into \Mods\Overrides folder. If you have followed our Wiki's CC Framework Guide, you already have an Overrides folder and the Resource.cfg file that supports it. If you don't have an Overrides folder inside the \Mods folder, setup the CC Framework as per our guide Game Help:Installing Sims 3 Package Files/Setup and Files. Note that if you don't already have the \Mods\Overrides folder, simply creating it would not work, you need the correct Resource.cfg to be able to read the \Mods\Overrides folder.
