Can you make a list of things that genuinely make you laugh while playing Sims 3? I guess I want to read a list like that because.. well.. I find my Sims 3 lack humor.

I have some screen shots of some things that have made me laugh. Keep in mind that every one's sense of humor is different.

I find my Sims' mad scooter skills (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSzmH2Wna1Y) to be pretty amusing.

-my sim trying to "get the cake" from the cowplant every morning and getting eattin in the process
-using the voodoo doll on another sim is hilarious
-watching sims playing with the football...and 1 throws it hard...and the other aint ready for it....their reaction is priceless...
-while grilling....they sometimes go to flip whatever it is...and it flops to the ground...then they look around to see if anyone saw it
and put it back on the grill like nothing ever happened...
-a failed attempt at disarming a trap in WA...
-a toddler getting tickled...or attacked with The Claw
-my sim trying to put a fire out in the hot-tub...
-pillow fighting
-sims ridding the "stargate"(its easier to spell) thing from ST..their reaction..OMG almost makes me spit my coffee on the monitor
-alot of the glitches are funny too

Ya know there are many more funny moments in the game....that i cant think of right now....they just pop up as i am playing it....
alot of those moments happen autonomously...meaning i have free will set to high....and i let my sims go about their business on their own...
i only step in to stave of dying.....thats when your gonna see alot of what the game has to over......

Where do I find the voodoo doll?? Do they get it from a Witch Doctor like in Sims 2?
Do you mean the foosball table?
Riding the stargate.. Is that from Showtime? I don't have that EP.

Thanks for the screenshots but what I meant was fun things that Sims do to each other and interactions with items. ;)

- The "Bore to Death" interaction by Sims with the No Sense of Humour trait
- When clumsy Sims drop an ice popsicle they bought from the ice cream truck
- When clumsy Sims propose marriage and drop the ring in the process
- When Sims look at the photos after woohooing in the photobooth
- When toddlers refuse to leave a spring rider
- Horses tapping to the stereo
- Horses splashing in the water trough
- When a puppy stumbles over its feet
- A failed sword trick of a magician
- Falling off the trampoline
- playable ghosts that play tag (actually no, this is very depressing, so skip that)
- Failure of the gnome pool trick and the whole range of idle animations of pool players
- Going tomb raiding with a coward Sim
- My Sim's great-grandmother who is a mummy and a level 10 firefighter and maxed out drummer
- My clown Sim who is a Don Juan par excellence

The last two I cited in order to show that if you don't find any fun in that game it's probably not the game's fault.

I've got all expansion packs except Showtime. The thing is that I'm trying to give Sims 3 another chance but I don't know... my main problem with it is with the Sims themselves, I just don't like how they look and move. I wish they could look/move like they do in Sims Medieval. When I played it I thought that the Sims were really charming and funny. Well, I'm getting off topic. Just wish I could like Sims in Sims 3 so bad like I love TS2, TS1 and Sims Medieval.

That in Sims 2 makes me laugh and in Sims 3 it doesn't. Gosh, I just don't know why! Maybe it's because it looks like a recycled animation from the Sims 2.

STOP---Infinity!!!

We i believe went through this same thing 6 months or whatever ago with you...you have to stop comparing....its not SIMS 1 2 or medieval...its 3....plain and simple...

Just play the game...stop looking for things that you think are wrong with it...!!!!!!!!!

Well, don't even go there. Some things about Sims 3 makes me laugh - Sims falling off the trampoline is really funny but the game in general doesn't make me laugh like TS1, TS2 & Sims Medieval. There a lot of Simmers who feel the same, it's not just me.

But we go through this same discussion with you ALL THE TIME...stop comparing and play.....just...play...

So if you have up to PETS then right..???...take your sim traveling...take the kids to the park...put in a workbench...have the kids get a pony....or a dog....they can take the dog for walks even....
have the kids have a sleepover...paint all the lanscapes in the town you play...make a simbot...try to get a skull....etc etc etc...!

It doesn't make you laugh because it looks like a recycled animation from the Sims 2? :wtf: Well, it seems you think everything about Sims 3 is a recycle of sims 2. Sims 3 might just not be the game for you after all but to each his own.

There a lot of Simmers who feel the same, it's not just me.
I'm sure there are also a lot of simmers who feel like jenieusa, it's not just her.

What about 'preside over royal court'? I always find it funny, the adults all get involved and start bowing, it's sweet! Especially when a child is doing it when everyone else is eating!

So, you think that Sims 1 had more fun things in it than Sims 3? I've never played TS2 but I played Sims 1 from 2000 until 2009 and I cannot for the life of me remember that many funny or humorous elements unless I made them appear as such. Children were boring, pets were boring, Hot Date dates and bars were boring, Vacations weren't very interesting, gardening was a drudgery, going out in Old Town depleted your motives so fast that you had to call the bus home within minutes, Studio Town was the same. I only enjoyed it because of the various mods and hacks I had.
But as you're so much into comparisons maybe you'd like to provide a list for TS1, so that I may stand corrected afterwards?

I love it! Their expression is so cute, but I've never tried it when everyone is eating... will try it later. Thanks for the tips! :)

:faceslap: Is there ever a thread on here that can't turn into a Sims 1 vs. Sims 2 vs. Sims 3 debate? Good lord, people, find a game, make your preference and move on. If you have to ask other people why THEY like a particular game after you've already been playing that game, then that game isn't for you! Enough with the comparisons! It's been going on for a few years too many, already! Getting defensive over your opinion isn't going to help you, all it does is make you like an overly OCD nutcase.

Take. The hint.

For some reason when I played Sims 3 last night (I'm giving it another chance) I enjoyed it more than the other times I played it. But, there are still some things that make me cringe and I get annoyed. It's mostly about the little things, small details, such as Sims not bending over to pick things up from the floor, not carrying a suitcase when going on vacation and I miss not seeing them opening the car door to get inside, the screen just loads to their destination.
I'm used to little details like these from Sims 2 maybe that's also why I find myself being harsh at Sims 3.

Well, thanks for the list of fun things that some of you posted. I really want to try the voodoo doll!!

Btw, what are some fun things that you can do in China? So far all I've seen was my Sim learning two chinese songs and then they can teach it to their kids, that was really cute.

I was trying not to get into comparisons here. I haven't played TS1 since TS2 was released but I remember I was never bored with TS1 and that it made me laugh, I loved that game. Why don't you read some of the topics about TS1 on here? ;)

If you dont find anything fun to do while traveling...then add it in....thats what edit world is for....add a pool....the trampoline.....if you have generations....make a childrens park...put in a Spa......do you have the free sky-diving RH from the store...add that in.....you can make China as unique as the regular world you play....

Do we see them sky-diving?? Do I need to have Showtime EP installed for that?
Also, have you tried the Sizzle Baby Pro Deep Fryer and the Frost-Bite Pro Ice Cream Machine from the store? Are the animations of Sims eating ice cream the same from the ice-cream truck?

jenieusa

No you dont need ST for the sky diving RH....but you do need to be up to date on the patches....

I have both the DF and ICM....i believe they are the same animations....but in my game...they look like HOGS eating the
ice cream...like theyve never had it before...funny as hell....

Ok, I can't wait to try them out! :D I'm really excited about Sims 3 lol and the Supernatural EP!! There are so many interactive objects from the store that I haven't tried and didn't even know existed! I guess I have to apologize for bashing Sims 3 in my previous topics.

- When toddlers refuse to leave a spring rider

Ohhh when does this happen?! I need to start paying closer attention. I always micro-manage my sim so is this something that tends to happen autonomously? I'd love to see it :D

That is my favorite time with the toddlers in the game. That animation had me ROFL when I first saw it.

I don't like to micro manage my Sims, I love free will. That is when the most interestingly, funny stuff happen. I normally don't play kids in my game, just get my single sim married, have a first kid and I move on to a new household of single Sims. Now I am being introduced to all types of new, hilarious interactions when I continue to play a family and grow them up. Add a few fun traits like neurotic and insane in the mix, boy I have a hard time stopping the game play and going to bed.

There was a time when i was bored with the game and mostly build, now that i use several mods from Twallan and a few others, I am enjoying the game now.

Don't have many EP's so I don't get the hilarious actions. So those are the only funny things I come across.
