I usually try to morph family names like Karlo is Arlo Bunches son with Camomile Bacon, who is Mortimer Goth and Trinity Bacons daughter. He is Cordelia's great grandson and Camomile's son. Its also cause Barlow and Trawler didnt work for me. Thats not easy but I am riding on the personal high of Chance Thayre Broke from Sims 2 ;)

I actually keep family trees and a list of families I'm currently playing so that I can see family names I want to keep, use maiden names for first names, etc. The only thing I've always refused to do is name a child after it's mother or father so they're a Junior. Juniors bug me. Naming babies is part of the fun of the game for me.

No, it's not that hard. I usually can think of a name and when not i use http://www.20000-names.com/
I use that site also for other games, like Sacred 2, Morrowind, Titan Quest. Only too bad that they haven't any surnames anymore.
