I wanted to start afresh so I moved the whole TS2 folder onto another drive and let the game create it again. After playing with the newly-created neighborhoods/sims for about a week, duplicate "conflict" files started showing up all over the place. I figured that these "conflict" files were files from my old game. Basically, all my old Sims, neighbourhoods, lots and collections from my old game were mysteriously added to my new game with "(conflict ____ on ___-PC on _/_/_)" at the end of the file name.

This is really pissing me off because I hate clutter.

I've honestly never seen this before, but it really doesn't look good. Take a look at the size of the files. Are the conflict files very small or very large compared to the other files?

It varies. I sort of cleared it out by removing the "conflict" files (one by one -.-) but I need to know what caused this.

Do you by any chance have a symbolic link between the two drives?

Well, I use Windows on my Mac and use MacDrive to access my Mac OS X files. I moved the old game onto the Mac OS X partition.
