OK, so yesterday i bought the new EP showtime and i was so excited to download it.
:alarm: Usually i don't patch my game from anywhere even from the launcher, since once, i tried that and it said in the 3/4 of the installation patch that some sort of file was missing. :alarm:

I have Almost all EP's and SP's installed:

Base Game (of course)
The Sims 3: World Adventures
The Sims 3: High-End Loft Stuff
The Sims 3: Ambitions
The Sims 3: Late Night
The Sims 3: Outdoor Living Stuff
The Sims 3: Generations
The Sims 3: Town Life Stuff
The Sims 3: Pets
The Sims 3: Master Suite

After a week or so i now have showtime!
Yet before the installation, it says:

"Sims 3 has to update before installing this EP"

Or something like that, i then clicked OK, and it started updating, but then it stopped and it said that i t failed so the installation could not continue. then when i entered the CD drive from my computer, and clicked on auto-run, it worked without updating.

after it installed fully, I double clicked the icon on the desktop.....but.....an error popped up saying that the sims 3 is unable to start, please re-install the base game!!!!!

I have faced this annoying problem in the past ,yet i fixed it by installing a new EP or SP.

But, this time i am not going to wait till i buy a new one!!!!!

I have searched all over the web in order to find a solution, yet all of them failed.

Also i lost most CD's so, i am not going to uninstall it manually or automatically (thru installer).

Therefore, I am waiting for a solution for this annoying problem that had bugged me for 2 days, which felt like a year or so!!!!!

So Plz help me in anyway possible, this is like one of my favorite games and i am not willing to give up on it.

Thanx for all your help!!!!!

PS. I have a windows XP professorial, but i can run as many HD games as possible and i have exceeded all the system requirements.

Sims 3 - Installing / Patching / Uninstalling
Whether you are Installing for the first time or Reinstalling, be sure to read the Game Help:Install FAQ.
-
This Game_Help:TS3_Uninstall link has the step-by-step instructions to guide you through uninstalling The Sims 3,
and its (EP/SP) packs. As well as removing any leftovers after uninstalling.
-
The Game_Help:TS3_Patching Guide provides information on:
Tips Before You Begin
Patching Common Errors
Manual Patch Downloads
Invalid File Errors and more

Have you registered the game(s) on EA sites? @thesims3.com or with Origin? If yes, then you can retrieve the code for a reinstall. You can even download a digital version via Origin.

If you have not uninstalled, you can retrieve the code fromHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Electronic Arts\Sims\The Sims 3\ergcMake a backup of the Registry too, before messing with it (http://www.pcruneasy.com/tutorials/...dit/backup.php). Make sure you're in the root "Computer" when you export, as that would export and backup everything.
In any case, a good and reliable Registry Cleaner (like the recommended CCleaner), would offer this backup choice to you before making any system changes.

The error cannot be resolved without an Uninstall and reinstall of the base game (at least). And if you don't have the discs or forgot the codes, then you need to contact EA on ways to get a replacement. There's not something we can help with.

Thank you for your reply, yet at the beginning i totally messed everything up! That bugged me for about 2 days.....

Finally, the 3rd day:

started installing everything again, all the way up to master suite, excluding (without) Fast Lane Stuff Pack.

The when I inserted the sims 3 showtime CD, the installer showed up..... Then I clicked on the first next and it told me that i have to update the sims 3. After some time, i came to check up on it and it said that it had failed to update the sims 3. Then the setup terminated. I then ran the setup again but this time manually from inside the CD/Disk. Yet this time it did not prompt me to update. After the installation finish, still no hope, it said unable to start game please re-install the base game! this is becoming so frustrating!

Please if you or anyone knows how to fix this problem in a simple way even if I would have to uninstall everything all over again, i will too give up on it!

Thank You.

The Uninstall guide has a link on how to reinstall, specifically this one Game_Help:TS3_PatchingEPSP.
I always do the Standard Method, with no issues.
