View Full Version : What Stuff Packs or EPs you KNOW will never get made, but you'd secretly love to have?

One thing I thought was missing from TS2 and TS3, but TS1 was actually pretty good about was was trashy junk.

I'd love a "Flashy Trash" SP with cheap cruddy junk that would get rejected by Goodwill. Since EA seems to have an odd obsession with 1980s recently, this would be a decade older and focus on trashy junk from the 1970s. There would be lots more stuff than what I listed, but here are the highlights. I'd say they'd NEVER make such a tacky SP, but then again, this would be at least as useful as Sweet Treats.

Please no one take offense: I am only partly kidding - I actually would buy an EP like this.

Stuff for babies + toddlers. I don't even build nurseries, because the only thing I can put in them is a crib and some deco.

Build mode? I'd like to see more architecture, like the Spanish Colonial + Sleek Sophistication sets. Not just windows and doors, but stuff that makes a building really pop and feel unique. The "Balcony window" was a unique touch to the build set.

Realistic stuff - things people would put into their homes. Themed is nice and has it's place, and it's welcome, but we shouldn't be using the same table and chair sets because they look the most "normal" compared to everything else.

And businesses/restaurants. Sure we can take this (and we've been advised to from Jennifer Lane when KPST came out) but if the modding community can do, EA, and mods shouldn't be a crouch, it should be icing on the cake.

An Stuff Pack for musical instruments. By the current definition of an Stuff Pack they would never make this, since SPs are nothing more than new meshes of existing objects. The musical instruments Stuff Pack would add a very wide variety of instruments. Including woodwind/brass instruments, because you know, they exist, too, EA.

More things for kids, toddler and babies( I love Generations, but it just wasn't enough.) And I would love to see a Freetime remake- ballet barres, pottery, sewing, fixing old cars, bug collections, hiking- it gave my sims something to do.

If we're talking secret-wishing then the the overwhelming majority - and not necessarily just men - would probably go for Sims 3: Porn Stars.

Personally, I'd prefer something that handled the matter in a more respectful and realistic way - but Porn Stars would be what we'd get if EA had anything to do with it.

The Sims 3: Crocs stuff!

I misread the title as "EPs you'd love to hate".
Ah, this is awkward.

An EP I'd genuinely like to have though would be a conversion of all my favourite Sims 2 furniture to Sims 3. Man that would be used SO MUCH!

That would be like Showtime and the Katy Perry Candy pack, but with an adult theme.

My point was: The Sims (all versions) has always had a strong 'interactive soft-core porn' component, and the most popular mods have always been those that ... well, accentuate that. And if EA themselves ever contemplated such a thing Officially, they'd go for the lowest common denominator rather than the highest common factor.

eskie227
7th Aug 2012, 07:13 PM
Actually, the "interactive soft-core porn" is more like a movie's PG 13 rating, certainly not R. I don't believe EA will ever give up their T rating. That's for modders to produce, which, now that animations are starting to be made, shouldn't be a long wait.

I'd love to see a farming EP, but know it'll never be made. We have gardening and can have a horse ranch, so wouldn't farming be a logical step? I know a lot of fans are against the idea, but the games have gotten pretty close anyway.

I'd like to see a pack of fashion from the past century. Everything from Edwardian jackets to flapper dresses to poodle skirts to mod and hippie to leisure suits to workout to punk to goth and all the other stuff!

Okay, well I have little interest in porn in the game but #1 on my list would also be an Adult-themed stuff pack and considering that The Sims is so fluffy, "adult" doesn't have to be all that risque. An EP with Teen Woohoo/Pregnancy, Adult-Teen relationships, smoking, actual drinking with consequences, more diseases (sexual or otherwise), crime, murder, real "exotic dancers" (obviously removal of the nudity blur and Ken and Barbie doll skins) would add to my soap operatic style of playing. Sex is all well and good but graphic woohoo or prostitution don't readily really spring to mind when I think of things I would want in an Adult EP though we'd then probably need a better shower woohoo animation.

I don't want to turn the game into GTA but it would be so much fun to play the Criminal career track and actually play mini-games of breaking into other Sims' homes and stealing items from them. Or taking on hit jobs from other Sims in the neighborhood. Sims with drinking problems getting kicked out of dive bars for starting brawls, alienating their family and friends and then dying in an alley of alcohol poisoning. It may sound grim to some but I write a lot of fiction and playing the game for me is often like creating a new story without writing anything down so an adult-themed EP would add a whole new level to the types of stories I could play without having to download mods (for which I know many of what I mentioned are available).

I know you don't want to play with mods, but I do recommend Twallan's which are very good, and he answers any questions you might have even if they're stupid ones (I write from experience :P )

I'd really like a musical instruments stuff pack (or EP!) too - re-introduce the violin, pianos for those of us that don't want any celebrities getting anywhere in the game, some woodwind and/or brass instruments... but I doubt we're going to get it...

A school SP for storytellers/machinima makers, with proper connected desks and working lockers and proper uniforms and stuff. Or a careers SP with newsroom stuff, office stuff, police department stuff, ETC.

I just really need stuff for my machinimas. T_T"

EDIT: DECENT BACKPACK ACCESSORIES. YES. I LIKE THIS. BRING ME ANOTHER.

EDIT 2: I'd also like to see a sort of GTA-ish SP/EP with an urban/run-down feel, convenience store stuff, maybe a strip club, etc, but that'd NEVER happen.

hmm, if there is an EP i wish sims 3 has and I know won't be is that sims can go to school and you can still manipulate them and you too listens to the teacher's topic which has questions that will pop up in the screen not literally like the pop up box for career but Sims 3 will have like a chat box for you to answer questions from the teacher. would be awesome hehe

More hobby items, ESPECIALLY CHILDREN AND TEENS. I feel like my Sims just do the same stuff over and over again. They have the same, average and generic stuff. Why can't I have nerdy table-top games, cars for my vehicle enthusiasts to tune up, more computer stuff for the computer whizes, some ballet-things for my little ballerinas, or even when at the movie theater, select a horror or a romance movie. Sims should be able to attend a midnight premier of a movie or perhaps a book signing.

Also more social things. I want them to goose, have a secret high-five, try to impress when on a date, and all that. Also wish that Sims could text each other. Maybe when their younger simsiblings are being bullied, the elder would go and beat them up?

More school stuff. I wish moms had an option to "pack a lunch" for their simchildren and simteens, more school events like "Sim1 was just sitting, listening to the history of llamas when suddenly, Sim2 passed her a note. Should Sim1 reply or wait until after class?" or (for sim teens) "Sim1 was eating her lunch when suddenly, Sim2 approached her and nervously asked if she wanted to go see Zombies? Zombies! The Movie and grab a quick meal that Friday."

Out on the town stuff. My sims are hermits because there isn't much for them to do outside the house. The movies, the Showtime stuff, it's all so dull and just meh to me.

Definitely kids and toddlers!! I mean generations gave us some, but i would love to have different things for the toddlers and kids to do! Like they could totally expand on the tip-top toddler collection EA put out.

More architecture, as Matrix54 suggested. Such as:
- Round walls, fences, flooring, & foundations. (Would work like the pool tool; you'd just need a few select styles of doors & windows. You could use it for towers, curved patios, small curved wall sections, etc.)
- Split levels, and the ability to put split levels on 2nd floors.
- Or 1/4 wall foundations, 1/2 wall foundations, and 3/4 wall foundations.
- Half stairs with animations.
- Basement tool with foundations.
- The ability to make curved counters or counters that have angles.
- Booths. We have them, but I want a cozy breakfast nook.
- Single shutters and longer shutters.
- Full-wall windows.
- More window options for the triangular space when a roof is made. Bigger round windows and arched windows. 1-tile to 4- or 5-tile.
- Latticework, for decks and such.
- Screened in porches. PLEASE.
- Ladders with animations.
- The ability to have sloped ceilings without tedious CFE. Or just having ceilings in the shape of a roof whenever you put a roof down.
- The ability to attach garages to houses without CFE. Not a huge deal (it's fairly easy) but it would save some time and look nicer without the bending of the wall.

Also more decor and clutter (in an SP, not a store set.) Like:
- More plants for tables and end tables, especially flowers.
- Shelving options.
- Trash and messy objects that subtract from a Sim's room need, but that can be placed in a lot before living there. (Piles of trash, stacks of papers and piles of papers, dirty food containers, crumpled sodas, used tissues, puddles, puddles of mud (Sims could slip!), knocked over/spilled drinks or mugs, old magazines, etc.)
- As has already been stated, messy/torn couches and rugs with stains, broken appliances and fixtures, etc. That also subtracted from Sims' room needs. :D

And my #1 EP choice would be an OFB type EP. It used to be Uni, but now I realize that's #2. Not sure if they'll ever make it for TS3, but really, we need it. ;) Ideas:
- bakeries, and bakeries where you can make your own cakes, pastries, and candies.
- restaurants!! This is the rabbithole that bothers me the most. "Generic" restaurants, fancy/5-star, trashy/questionable, and ethnic, like Mexican, Chinese, Thai, French, etc. And fast-food restaurants, coffee shops, smoothie shops, ice cream shops.
- Grocery stores opened.
- This might be a good time to have some sort of farming, too. Raising livestock and making milk and/or cheese, killing animals for meat (this would surely be done off-screen), more foods to harvest. Your Sim can sell their produce at a farmer's market, and if other Sims buy it, they could get a positive moodlet for helping their town, the environment, and eating organically. More effect for eco conscious Sims.
- Making jams, jellies, marmalade.
- Jewelry making, pottery, knitting things to sell.
- Other stores: electronics, clothing (different types - fancy, thrift store, boutique, career outfits), gag gift/joke shops, toy shops, bookstores opened, spa opened (with massages, manicures & pedicures (pick your nail color & pattern!), mud baths, sauna, facials), shoe shops, jewelry stores.

I have a new one:

Sims: Low Ambitions: The Menial Job Expansion Pack

Now your sim can get the jobs that were reserved for NPCs.

Pizza Delivery - Make pizzas in your kitchen and drive around town delivering them.
Mail Carrier and Newspaper kid part time job - Walk around town and deliver mail or newspapers all day.
Maid - For people who can't get enough of keeping their own house clean.
Repo Man - It's like the ghost hunter career and and an active criminal career with a little bit of Price is Right. Steal stuff with your zapper gun from slackers who won't pay their bill. Try to get to the closest of their bill without going over!

The Slacker career will be back and new plants - grow your own "bubble blower plants" to sell to your friends or make them into bubble brownies!

I agree to the poster above most is like sims do the same thing all over again, even their food, Since EA made a list of recipes for sims to eat, why not just leave it like open, for example the fish, any fish they caught they can cook it in the grill ,or any vegies they have imean like they can cook the way they wanted. then that would be awesome! realistic!

Sims Vice is Nice. That's the pack I need. V.J Alvi is suppose to be bad and the worst thing he can pull is a whoopie cushion? Lisa Bunch is a troubled girl who is guilty of...shoplifting I guess? I mean where is the bad? I want teens with trouble bad moms that can't put the juice cup down, I want to make a Lifetime Movie script play out on my screen. Instead I dye hair pink and that's kinda as bad as I get.

I'd love a pack that is a hugely extended version of Freetime. Lots of hobbies for ALL life stages to do; sports, activites etc. I can't think off the top of my head but I've thought of many ideas. It would also be a pack to bring back changing and bathing the babies and toddlers. Plus a heap of new clothes for everyone, not just mainly the women. This is making me think about how much they could have extended Generations... Ahhh there was so much potential! :(

I would really like an expansion pack that actually expanded the game. Simple things like being able interact with how the sim is cooking, telling them to use the microwave for a pizza and making it taste gross. Or being able to sit on a sofa and then take of all the cushions in an epic search for you lost cell phone. Being able to lose car keys or a sim locking themselves out of their own car. XD A sim actually having a bad hair day and their hair is sticking up and they need to wear a hat or go to the salon. Sims actually being able to pick up chairs, and lamps, and other things when fighting with each and throwing the stuff at each other. Pimples for teens, and toddlers who can cry on demand because they are actual divas. Things like that would be nice. It would a level of realism we just cant seem to get in the sims. I know what I'm asking for is the absolute hardest thing to do so therefore it will only ever be a dream expansion pack. The real odd end actions sims have and or do. XD

I definitely like the ideas of grungey stuff and also the menial jobs.

But the one thing I think would make a good EP, but I don't think EA would do, is a 'time travel' EP. I would like destinations or playable towns that were from other eras. I would like to see this with the facility to have all the sims in town (including townies) dress from a particular collection. So that if you were playing a medieval town, for example, all the sims you saw would be dressed in the correct clothes - even for work. And with the roads and buildings also in theme. And then EA could put out more worlds of different themes in the store. So you could have, perhaps, a Roman theme, a Victorian theme, a futuristic theme, etc

I don't know if EA will make this or not, but I would LOVE to have another EP like Freetime for the Sims2. I agree with the poster above me that said that EP gave their sims things to do in their everyday lives. I think we are doing pretty good on the nightclub front in the Sims3 now with all that Late Night and Showtime added (and even some of the Premium items in the store like the Casino games), and we are doing pretty good with the more exotic activities (by exotic I mean that they are things that most people don't do) with everything from inventing, sculpting, ghost hunting, tomb rading, to being an acrobat or magician. Yet when it comes to the kind of everyday things that a lot of people like to do in their freetime, we could really use some more of those. Things like sewing, knitting, working on old cars, playing sports like basketball or softball, ballet, playing board games and table top games, coloring and/or drawing, interactive community classes in pottery, dancing and jewelry making (not rabbit holes), building and flying model rockets and planes, hiking, interactive day camps for the kids with sports and crafts and things. You know, just stuff that a lot of "normal" people do. Freetime was my favorite expansion after Seasons for the Sims2 because those kinds of everyday activities are really important to my gameplay and it is an area that the Sims3 is really lacking on in my opinion.

I know you don't want to play with mods

Oh no, no, no. My game is full of mods, I would have stopped playing The Sims at TS2 if not for them, but just because I play with mods, doesn't mean that I wouldn't want EA to put many of those same features in the game since it'd be much easier for EA to able to add the proper animations, meshes, moodlets; we wouldn't have to worry about compatibility issues whenever a new EP comes out, and etc. other reasons of convenience.

As much as I love my mods, I'm always happy when I can remove one because the feature has been incorporated into the game through an EP (or patch).

Oh and I agree about the menial jobs, I actually thought this would be something we'd have in the base game. I don't see why NPCs get all the fun in delivering pizzas and fixing broken toilets. And my kids could always earn extra money as paperboys/girls. EA needs to make that happen where every job, even the taxi driver is open to playable Sims.

Thanks, but I already know about these mods (as I mentioned in the post you replied to) and have most, if not all of them in my game already. I'd like an Theme Park Type EP. I'd like to see my sims ride roller coasters, drop falls, ferris wheels, I'd like to a couple eat cotton candy together, I'd like to see a sim parent go through the glass maze with their kid, I'd like to see kids crash and hit each other in bumper cars. There's so many interactions and things to do at amusement parks. Also, combined with the Le Cirque Celebration and SEA, you could make an awesome carnival come at specific times of the year, or have a different theme park for every season. That would be really nice. Well, it is really nice in my dreams.

I'd love a Sims 3: Family Drama expansion pack. Or heck, just a drama expansion pack. I'd love for my sims to get angry at others for stupid reasons. Right now I feel like my families are always happy with each other unless I go out of my way to give them conflicting traits. I'd also like sims to get upset about certain situations. Like, if my sim tells her father that she's getting married to the local crime lord, I'd love it if he got upset unless he had the evil trait or somesuch.

fairycake89
10th Aug 2012, 08:57 PM
As an add on to what Amp said, I'd like some real reactions from sims who are not the babydaddy when their wives tell them they're pregnant. Furthermore I'd like some better reactions to certain scenarios altogether. Such as:
Sim 1: Guess what! I'm pregnant!
Sim 2: WTF? You'll make a terrible mother! I've seen you with kids! You suck!

Sim 1: Guess what! I got a promotion!
Sim 2: WTF? You're the laziest sonofabitch I know! How the fuck did that happen?

and so on ....
