This fireplace has replace one of the maxis original fireplaces and I don't know who made it or what the file is called. Does anyone know where it is from?
(If this belongs in an other forum please move it (I find the new 2 forum style confusing)

You don't know where you got it OR who made it OR what it's called, but it's in YOUR game? The only reason I ask is because that's very careless downloading policy, and you're bound to get screwed doing that. I'd ask sissy04 if it's hers because she's mentioned to me that she made a fireplace that overwrites the Maxis one, but I have no idea if that's hers or not.
The only reason I'm making a point of this, is because I've lately seen a lot of downloads here that I know for a fact are being posted by people that have NO business posting anything. And if that's not enough, downloaders are thanking and praising them, and for what? Offering nothing more than an easy opportunity for you to screw up your game. BE SELECTIVE. Research the reputation of the creator BEFORE you download their objects from now on.
Brasstex.
PS: I guess you can't delete it with the trash can because the game isn't reading it as a custom item. You'll have to search for the creator or find it in your downloads.

I have seen a similar fireplace to that one here at MTS2. Let me see if I can find out something for you.
Well the fireplace that I was thinking of was one made by Brasstex. It was called BTXCenterpieceFireplace, but from what I can tell from your picture it is not the same one. Sorry that I can't help. I guess that I have never seen the fireplace in question....I am pretty sure that it is not from here.

What you can try to do is put the fireplace on an EMPTY lot and package the lot. Then open up the lot (which you will find in PackagedLots) using Clean Installer and it should give you the details of that fireplace. Maybe that can help. (I've started adapting that method of troubleshooting lately.)

daysies--that's an excellent idea.
I read someplace that if the testing cheat is enabled the file name will show when the mouse is on it in the buy menu. Never tried it tho.

Thanks Daysies and Mutantbunny for your great tips.
I'll try them right away.
On an other related note. Does anyone know if there is a special thing you need to do to be able to use the chimney recolors?
I used to have them working and now they aren't.
So I downloaded them again but that didn't help.

I tested both and Daysies suggestion worked.
It is from sims.top.to, asamo_fireplace01.package.
