Sims 3 Mod Manager

Hey guys,

So I recently stumbled across the interesting world of Sims modding... I am still in awe as to the fact that Sims 3 is basically a C# written game! And reading the currently mod tutorial shows that the process of running mods is still fairly difficult.

The technical challenges of writing a program that can rewrite the game DLL and inject new code in is very, very interesting and I want to help contribute to the community.

This is sort of a "hey I'm interested in working on this, so heads up!" kind of a post. What features do you guys want? My eventual plan is for the application to have a list of mods you want to run, and the application has the ability to inject all of these mods into the game and then run them. All with a pretty, and useable GUI.

Oh, and after works... I'm planning on adding tools to make mod writers lives easier!

So let me know what you guys think

There is already a core mod merger released by morgade (http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=354748) so if you want to get together with him you can co-create what uou described. Which would, quite frankly, be amazing.

I would like it to have multicoloured ponies that you can feed and brush and play with and train to do tricks. They should have glittery manes and soft noses and there should be a selection of ribbon colours and types that I can braid into their long shiny tails.

There are a number of large-scale projects under way already, you probably want to see what's been done before reinventing the wheel

Usually it's more of a "pick a task you want to do, and get to it" rather that "Err, umm, huh...err... what do you want to do?". Sometimes people suggest things that might lead you to doing a new tool... but a lot of the times the tool creators read around and try and guage what people need, or look at what the game or the current mod scene is lacking, and work from there.
