Family tree images when travelling

When my sims visit a foreign world, their family tree shows their relatives at whatever age they were when someone first left the original home world (Sunset Valley in this case) - so for example the family tree shows a picture of a child when the sim in question is now a young adult and married.

As I'm starting to use Traveller to play in two different worlds, I'd really like to be able to update the pictures. They must be stored somewhere in the save file database it uses for travelling - does anyone know where? If I delete images from the file called SunsetValleyDB or something like that will that sort it out? Or just make a mess of my save?

I can of course just experiment and see what happens (and backup of course), but if anyone else has tried I would appreciate your experience...

That sounds like the same thing that afflicted SimPE with thumbnails before Apartment Life started regenerating thumbnails every few minutes. -IF- that is the case, then removing the images should fix it, although having the "afflicted" sims go to a mirror or get a makeover might work as well.

Makeovers don't help - it's that the image of the sim saved for their thumbnail when other sims go travelling isn't being updated, so sims that are left behind look younger than they really are (or more alive than they really are, in some cases). I haven't experimented yet, but I will.

Have you tried clearing out the Thumbnails folder?

Yeah, you can remove the SNAP files from whichever .nhd in your savegame corresponds to the world you want to redo the thumbnails for. You could probably do it for all the .nhds you have though, as the game seems to regenerate the ones it actually needs - there's often loads of them that are junk from CAS.
