The Hired Help Challenge
The Hired Help Challenge:
(aka The Jack of all Trades Challenge) Setup: -Make 1 young adult sim in cas with any aspiration or traits you want. -You may want to move another sim in with your sim, so your sim can still keep their house when they go to work. -Put them in a starter house and make sure to buy these objects: a tv, a bonsai tree, a woodworking table, an easel, and a punching bag. -You can use money cheats when making your starter house. -No getting married or pregnant until the challenge is over Rules: Days 1-3 - Skill Building Keep your sim on their home lot skilling as much as possible. The most important skills to focus on are cooking, handiness, gardening, painting, and fitness. After you have gained all the skill points you possible can in a three day period, it's time to go to work. Day 4-8 - Live-in maid / butler Preferred Mood: Inspired Move your sim in with a big family like the Spencer-Kim-Lewis family. Don't move your sim in with a very rich family like the Goths yet. A rich family is needed for another job your sim will have. Your cooking skill will come in handy here, so make sure to watch the cooking channel on tv when you have nothing else to do. Your job will be to cook, clean, and keep the house in order. Day 9 -13 - Live-in Gardener Preferred Mood: Focused Move your sim in with a household that has a large garden. Your gardening skills will come in handy here. Keep their garden in excellent shape until it's time to move on to your next job. Day 14 - 18 - Live in Repairman / Repairwoman Preferred Mood: Focused Move your sim in with a household with a medium sized house. Your job will be to fix anything that needs fixing and upgrade anything you can upgrade. When not on the job, keep working on your handiness skill by using the woodworking station (if they have one) or reading a skill book which you have to buy. Day 19 - 23 - Live in Artist Preferred Mood: Inspired A very rich family (either the Goths or the Landgraabs will do) has noticed your artistic talents. They were so impressed with you that they decided to move you in as a live-in artist. You will spend most of your time painting and using a woodworking table to make sculptures. If the household doesn't have an easel or woodworking table, you may buy it for them. This is the time to focus on your art and handiness skill. You should at least make for them 5 paintings and 3 sculptures all of excellent or masterpiece quality. Day 24 - 26 - Live in Nanny Preferred Mood: Playful Move your sim in with a family that has at least 2 children - not counting teens. Your job will be to take care of the children and babies of the household. If you have enough satisfaction points, you will have to get the mentor trait so you can help the children gain new skills. Your duties will include feeding and changing babies, tidying up the kids' rooms, socializing with the babies and children, helping the children with their homework and taking children on daily excursions like a trip to the park or the museum. Make sure to keep the children entertained and help them build skills as well. Day 27 - 30 - Live in Personal Trainer Preferred Mood: Energized Move in with a household with one or two sims. You should use your fitness skill to help your client(s) achieve their wanted body shape. Maybe your client is overweight and wants to get fit for health reasons, or maybe your client is thin and wants to build up muscle. Either way, you are to use your fitness skill to motivate them and help them achieve their fitness goals. Being energized is important as well as having fitness skill. Make sure to keep them motivated by giving them pep talks. You can also use your cooking skill to make them healthy nutritious meals like garden salad or a protein plate. You can also use protein shakes to keep your client energized. If you have reached level 9 in fitness, you should use the "practice fighting" interaction. If you have reached level 10 in fitness, you should mentor your client(s) in fitness as much as possible. It also helps to discuss fitness often with your clients at the beginning so they can gain those first points in fitness.. After you finish your duties as a personal trainer, your challenge is over. Score: +10 for every skill point you have earned +25 for every friend you have (not counting the kids you took care of as a nanny) +50 for every lover you have +10 for every meal with excellent quality +10 for every plant evolved +10 for every successful repair made +25 for every successful upgrade +25 for every painting made as live-in artist with above good quality. +50 for every masterpiece painting made as a live-in artist +50 for every sculpture made as live-in artist. +50 for being friends with the children your sim took care of. (for each child) +75 for being good friends with the children your sim took care of. (for each child) +50 for each child who aged up in a good mood (while your sim was the nanny) +100 if you used the mentor trait to mentor the kids your sim took care of as the nanny. +10 for every skill earned by the children your sim took care of. +20 for each fitness skill point earned by your client (as personal trainer). +50 if your clients lost weight or gained muscle (for each client). -25 for every enemy your sim has at the end of the challenge -10 for every meal with quality below good -10 for every dead plant -10 for every unsuccessful repair -25 for every painting made as live-in artist good quality or below -25 for being enemies with the children your sim took care of (for each child) -50 for each child who aged up in a bad mood while your sim was the nanny -50 if your clients gained weight or lost muscle mass while your sim was a personal trainer. (for each client) Your pay: Take your score and multiply it by 10. That is your pay for all of the jobs your sim has done. Additional playstyles: Maybe being a live-in nanny or personal trainer isn't your cup of tea, or maybe you're having so much fun that you want to make the challenge longer. Here are a couple extra options for you to try out. Live-in party planner Preferred Mood: Confident While living in your starter home, buy a small bar and a mirror and spend some of your time learning mixology and charisma. Whenever you want to start work, move in with a household of young adult or adult sims like the BFFs or the Roomies. You will spend your time planning and throwing parties for your clients so they may gain friends and move up in society. Practice your mixology and charisma when you're not working +25 for every bronze medal party +50 for every silver medal party +100 for every gold medal party Live-in entertainer Preferred Mood: Inspired While living in your starter home, buy an instrument of your choice and a comedy microphone and spend some of your time learning comedy and skill in your instruments. Your job is to keep the members of household you're working for entertained and to entertain at their parties and social functions. If your client(s) has children, you need to use your mentor trait to give them music lessons (If you have maxed out your skill). +50 for each instrument your sim has over 5 skill points in +25 for every comedy skill point over 5. +100 for mentoring your clients or their children in music or comedy. Live-in caretaker Preferred Mood: Inspired or Confident Move your sim in with an elder only household with at least 2 elder sims. Your job will be to take care of the elders and keep them comfortable and happy. Your duties will include cooking their meals, helping them clean their house, planning events for them to meet and make friends with other elders, and helping them learn skills. You should try your best to make friends with them as well. +25 for being friends with the elders your sim took care of. (for each sim) +50 for being good friends with the elder your sim took care of. (for each sim) +25 for every bronze medal social event +50 for each silver medal social event +75 for each gold medal social event +10 for each skill point gained by each elder |
Here is a pic of my challenge sim. Her name is Camilla Vera, and her aspiration is to be a master chef. Her traits are
creative, loves the outdoors, and perfectionist. Camilla couldn’t afford a house on her own, so she lives with her roomate Aurelia. The two really get along great. Here’s a pic of the two friends watching the cooking channel on TV. For the next three days, Camilla will be working on her skills like crazy. Then it’s off to work for her first household. Camilla’s first job was working as a maid for the Calliente family. You’d think that four grown sims would know how to cook and clean the house. You’d be wrong! Camilla’s first chore was cooking lunch for her new clients. Camilla really wants to impress Katrina and her family (and Don), so she makes them a gourmet meal. They looked like they were enjoying it. Nina was the friendliest one in the house. She talked and joked with Camilla and actually complemented her on her cooking. After lunch was finished, Camilla had cleaning duty. Camilla thought she had never met any sims as lazy and messy as the Callientes as she began to clean up mess after mess. It seemed to Camilla that they had messed their house up on purpose to make work harder for her. Her first task was doing the dishes. After that Camilla cleaned up the bathrooms. One bathroom was extra messy and smelly. Camilla thought she was going to pass out from the stench. There was even garbage on the floor. Nasty! …and now a pic of the really disgusting bathroom. She was so exhausted after all of that cleaning, she went straight to bed for a well deserved rest. The next morning, Camilla awoke to find the dining room table cluttered with dishes. There must be a couple of midnight snackers in this family. The rest of her time as the Calliente’s maid was pretty much the same. Camilla cooked and cleaned until she passed out on her bed from exhaustion. Camilla found Don really annoying. He was always making passes at her and spouting his cheesy pick-up lines. Camilla got to where she couldn't stand it anymore, so she set Don straight. He never talked to her again after that, not even when Camilla tried making friendly conversation. After Camilla left the Calliente house, she got a job as a gardener working for three young adult sims who were BFFs. She really liked working for them as they were very nice and complemented her on the progress of their garden all of the time. Everything went so smoothly with Liberty, Travis, and Summer. She really didn't want to leave for her next job, but they only hired her for five days. Camilla was surprised when the three sims threw her a party on her last day. She was going to miss her time working for the BFFs. It wasn't long until Camilla was hired by the illustrious Landgraab family to work as a repair-woman. On her first day, she was in for a culture shock. The Landgraabs were distant and formal with her unlike the friendly BFFs she last worked for. She spent most of her time upgrading everything in the house since the Landgraabs were so wealthy that they had the best of everything ..to be continued. |
Finally It was time for Camilla to leave the grand Landgraab mansion to go work as a live-in artist for another wealthy family,
The Goths. On her first day, Bella showed her to her studio. She wanted to commission five painting and three sculptures to be displayed in Ophelia Villa, the Goth’s mansion. Camilla really liked the Goths. She thought they were a really close family and couldn't understand why they were so gloomy all the time. The next day, Camilla started work and painted two masterpiece paintings. Making sculptures was more difficult to Camilla than painting, but she managed to get all three sculptures done in the first three days. Camilla loved her job as live-in artist and was warming up to the Goths. With every passing day, it seemed that the Goths were warming up to her as well, especially the children. Camilla found that she couldn’t get her work done as fast as before because the kids were always wanting to spend time with her. Before Camilla knew it her days with the Goth family were over. She had got a job working as a nanny for the Zest family of Oasis Springs..The Zest family had three children, twins Chloe and Cameron and baby Brady. When Camilla arrived, she met Mrs. Zest and was shocked that it was her friend from her days as a gardener, Summer Holiday - now Summer Zest. She was about to leave for work and gave Camilla a piece of paper that had the children’s daily routine written on it before she left. Soon after Mrs. Zest left, the school bus arrived to take Chloe and Cameron to school. Since the kids were at school, Camille decided to spend most of her time taking care of baby Brady. Her daily routine was very easy to follow. From 7am to 8am, she would make sure the kids had breakfast and pack their lunch for school before the bus arrived. From 8am - 2pm, she would spent most of her time taking care of baby Brady, making sure he was fed, changing his diapers, and socializing with him. After school was out, Camilla was to make the kids an after-school snack and help them with their homework. Summer normally got home for work around 4pm and spent most of her time tending to baby Brady. While Summer was taking care of the baby Camilla got to take the twins on an after-school excursion - most of the time to the park or to the nearby river for some fishing. The rest of the day was spent helping the kids learn their skills. Camilla helped Chloe and Cameron with their mental skills by teaching them how to play chess. She helped the kids with their creativity skills by teaching them how to play an instrument. Cameron chose piano lessons, while Chloe wanted to play the violin. After two days had passed, Brady had a birthday. He was a child like the twins now and was excited for his first day of school. The kids really took a liking to Camilla. Especially Chloe who looked to her as a role-model and friend. Camilla was always there to spend time with the kids and help them out with any problems they were having. Chloe got in the habit of sneaking into Camilla’s room at night because of nightmares, and Camilla assured her every time that the monsters under her bed weren't real. Chloe loved taking to Camilla because she was a good listener and didn't talk down to her like most adults. It wasn't long til Camilla and Chloe were good friends. The days working for the Zest family flew by so fast for Camilla. Before she knew it, her last day with the Zest family was here. It was an odd coincidence that it was also the twins’ birthday as well. Camilla felt herself get more sad as the day went on. She had gotten really attached to the Zest family, especially the twins. That night, the family threw a birthday party the twins. Camilla couldn't help crying because they had grown up right before her eyes. Now they were teenagers, and they didn’t need her to be their nanny anymore. The next morning, Camilla packed her things and tried to keep herself from breaking into tears. Chloe came into her room crying. She told Camilla that she didn’t want her best friend to move away from her. Camilla assured her that she won’t be far away. She got a job working as a personal trainer for the Pancakes in Willow Creek. They exchanged numbers as Camilla promised Chloe that she can call or text her any time she wants. to be continued… |
unsure
I was wondering when we move in with the families do we just focus on our sim or do we play the house
[QUOTE=MissChevus]The Hired Help Challenge: (aka The Jack of all Trades Challenge) |
You just focus on your sim and let the families take care of themselves (with free will on).
Of course, you can also control the families when your sims is asleep if you want to. |
Hired Help Challenge - Part 3
Personal Trainer Camilla's first task when she arrived at the Pancakes house was to do something about the couple's diet. From now on, there would be no more pancakes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the Pancakes family. Camilla noticed the look of disappointment on Bob and Eliza's faces when she served their lunch, a couple of protein platters. Over lunch, Camilla went over all of the changes the Pancakes would have to make to get in shape. A healthy diet and an exercise plan were in order for both Bob and Eliza. She then took a before photo of Bob because he was the one who wanted to slim down. Camilla could tell that Bob had no idea that Eliza hired her as a personal trainer for them. He looked like he was in pure misery for the duration of the first day. After the healthy lunch and before photo, Camilla began working out with Bob on the punching bag. She was surprised to see that he was actually having a good time taking out his aggression on the punching bag. The next day, Camilla began her workout session with Eliza which included mostly cardio training on the treadmill. When lunchtime rolled around, Camilla proudly displayed the buffet of healthy foods that she made especially for Bob and Eiiza. The buffet table was set with caprese salad, protein plates, and fruit and yogurt parfait. Eliza looked delighted, but Bob looked bummed out that he had to eat the same kind of food two days in a row. He complained to Camilla saying that he was really hungry, but she told him that he'd better get used to it because he will be eating only healthy foods while she was working for him. The next day, Camilla had the couple do some weight training. Eliza was really getting in it, but Bob couldn't get motivated to give healthy living a chance. Then Camilla and Bob worked out on the punching bag, an exercise he actually enjoyed, while Eliza exercised on her own outside. When Camilla went outside to check on how she was doing, she saw that she was doing push-ups and sit-ups with ease. She was so impressed by Eliza's will to change her lifestyle to a healthier one. On day 4, the Pancakes had a pool put in, so Camilla and the couple spent most of the day swimming. Then for dinner, Camilla made them a special meal of grilled salmon. She was impressed by Bob's progress. He was rapidly gaining muscle even though he really disliked working out. Eliza, on the other hand, started gaining a little weight back even though she worked out more than Bob. Later that night, Camilla came downstairs and caught Bob in the act... of eating pancakes. Busted! The next day was the last day of Camilla's job with the Pancakes and her birthday. Eliza baked her a strawberry cake, and they had a little birthday party for her. Camilla finds it hard to believe that she's now an adult. She only had two more jobs to do before her working days are over. After one last workout session, it was time for Camilla to go home. Before she left, she took one after picture of Bob. He looks like a totally different person. Camilla also found out why Eliza was gaining weight back. It turns out that Eliza is pregnant. She just found out she's having a baby girl. Camilla gave Bob and Eliza one last hug before she left. She made them promise they would continue exercising and eating healthy foods and congratulated Eliza on her pregnancy. She has been hired by some roomies in Oasis Springs to work as a party planner, so it will probably be a while before she sees the Pancakes family again. |

MissChevus, you should start writing more about Camilla! I loved reading it. I also am gonna start doing this challenge, it looks sooo fun! :D
|
Thanks for the challenge-I love all your challenges-you help keep the game fun for me!
Quick clarification on the scoring. You give pts for certain paintings done while in that house, pts for plants evolved while in that house. Are the "excellent meals" only for when we are in the first house? or both the first house and the nanny house? or the whole length of the challenge? Thanks again, will post pics tomorrow since I don't have to work. |
